His music career began not in a polished studio, but in a raw, cross platform collaboration with his partner in crime, MATTXIC3 (now known as Fresh Japan). Their first track saw YXNGJO$EF recording his part on a humble PC while Fresh Japan contributed from an Xbox. They eventually elevated their setup to a joint effort on a Chromebook. Dismissing the need for expensive gear, YXNGJO$EF proudly declares his bedroom as his permanent studio a space that encapsulates his lofi origins and authentic sound, a creative base he intends to keep, no matter his future popularity. YXNGJO$EF's sound is a dynamic fusion of Indie Rock's atmospheric textures and the raw, direct storytelling of Rap. He navigated several monikers, starting as yungcashmere then YUNGCA$H, before settling on YXNGJO$EF. He creates both potent solo tracks and key collaborations alongside Fresh Japan. His diverse inspirations include the genre bending xaviersobased and the dark, visceral sound of New Orleans duo SuicideBoys. He possesses a signature brand of self awareness, often being skeptical of his own work, yet genuinely enjoying the creative process and the final result.
