In the proto-Germanic tradition, Ôstara is the transition between the times of darkness and the times of light. Ostara means "shine", the time to begin the opening of ourselves towards times of rebirth. I hope this musical selection helps you, as it helped me, to look forward to the new times ahead, whether in the darkness coming south, or the light coming north.

Electribal 17 - Ostara Tribal Spring Mix 2021

Although I have specialized in ethnic electronic music in the last few years, my roots are in deep and melodic techno. This is a dark techno set made for the most intense hours of the night, made for the Exiled Tendencies podcast, brought to you by my dear friends @Mars Vertigo and @Sesheta. Very grateful to them for the invitation to recover a bit of those dark roots, so reminiscent of shadow work.

I prepared this set for the Medicine Festival over several months of travels and adventures. Each song came as if in magical and sacred moments, joyfully condensed into a story of drums and extasis. And so was the dance floor. A horde of goblins and wizards and witches and gnomes and elves and madmen jumping up and down and celebrating life. 

So grateful to the Medicine Festival family for a festival of so much love and so many rituals of love, and for letting me open the night stage at prime time, allowing a naughty dance of medicine people. 

Sometimes an important thing to remember is that festivals are also ceremonies, and one of the oldest ones. May the party never end :)

Electribal 18 - Medicine Festival 2021 Summer Mix

After almost half a year without recording a set for different reasons, mainly my slight disenchantment towards the downtempo scene, I share with you this set of beautiful Electribal tracks, built mainly from the territories of Afro and Organic House. The set was built over several months of exploring intensely percussive electronica, and the result is an energetic, dynamic and afro-tropical feeling set. 

As the world burns, and we all watch helplessly and impotently, I hope you find in this set at least the energy to dance along with each other. My thoughts are with the people of Ukraine, and also with the Russians who reject this absolute catastrophe. May the two nations and the two ancient cultures be able to dance with each other, remembering that only the present in its ecstatic experience of love and movement is all that matters.

Electribal 19 - Spring Deep Afrotribal Mixtape 2022

Deeply grateful to the Hedone Tribe for giving me such a beautiful space to close the main stage of the KitKat Club for Hedone's birthday party. It was truly delightful to dance with you professional Hedonists and feel your beautiful vibes and smiles. This set is a trimmed down version of my 4 hour set. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Electribal 20 - Hedone KitKat Club Spring Mix 2022

After two years without publishing a set (due in part to the enormous amount of chores and in part to my inevitable procrastination), I am publishing again with a new project: Xantolo, the name of the Day of the Death in indigenous language. These series will contain my sets with a sexier and deeper tone, differentiating themselves from the Electribal sets, which are obviously more medicinal and downtempo. I want to share with you the sets I've played at body-sex-positive themed parties, where I've been sharing my music a lot lately.

A few days ago I was joking (but seriously) about the fact that the last four parties I've played have been naked parties. Lately I play more naked than with clothes :D And well... These Xantolo series represents the return of my process as a music selector and Dj. From now on I will publish sets from the parties and festivals with which I collaborate, as a show of support, affection and appreciation for the beauty of these spaces. I don't want to close the Electribal project, but I'm not sure how much I will publish Electribal sets. I am very lucky to attend some of the most beautiful parties and festivals in the world, and I hope I can motivate you to attend too when you hear the music that is heard there. This set was for the beautiful The Naked Tea Party, an essential part of Berlin and the Hedone festival. It's a live recording, so the volumes are changing since I adjusted them throughout the set as more people entered or left. There are also a number of strange little cuts, as I had to process the length of the set into three parts and then put it together. Quality is mp3, since the file was to big to process as a WAV. Outside of this, I think it's one of the most fun sets I've ever played. I enjoyed every minute :)

Thanks to those who danced for the two and a half hours without stopping, with your naked and sweaty bodies supporting the beat.

Making this mix with my brother @distelfinkberlin was so effortless, so much fun, we would've done it for free. (Still took the money, though—Berlin rent ain't cheap.)

Electribal 3 - Spring 2018 Mixtape (Berlin Deep Edition)

This new Mixtape is a compilation of melodic downtempo, with beautiful pianos, guitars and singing from around the world. Of course, some intense and psychedelic synthesizers too. Gabriel Soma -  Festi-What 2018 Deep Techno Mix

Electribal 6 was built with special attention to artists who have put more effort into combining tribal sounds with the downtempo genre, without diminishing one or the other. Artists such as Ome, Quixosis, Rodrigo Gallardo or Muno have shown a serious commitment to rescue lost sound files and bring them back to light using electronic music as a medium, without altering them too much and without sacrificing the purity of the bass. Electribal 7 - Winter Tribal Beat Mōdraniht Mix 2018

Whoa! These were definitely intense times, but the new Electribal is finally here ;)  The present Dj Set is the product of one of the most important moments of my life: My own spiritual wedding with a beautiful being. Our dream was always to make a festival in the mountains to celebrate a union ritual ... And we did it !!! To celebrate the union, I designed a new Set, capable of paying tribute to the sacred mountains that sheltered us, while the people offered their dance intensely at the altar: the dance floor. It was an honor to share the dancefloor with musicians from the category of Pesto, Inti Nahual, Quixosis, Ella & Soul, Rod Hernandez or Ome. Thank you guys! 
Dance, because dance is the most sacred way that was given to pay tribute to life :)

Electribal 8 - Spring Tribal Pósadh Gathering 2019

This spring was marked by the ceremonial spirit. Sacred plants and molecules are creating a new approach to reality. More and more the songs, dictated gently by the medicines, are heard by humanity, and transmitted through multiple channels. This set is made up of producers who have emphasized different sacred and traditional songs of multiple tribes: Kashinawa, Hune Kui, Saeki, Orixas, Kanaka Maoli, Uyghur, Bulgars and Sioux, among others. The objective never ceases to be dancing, but rising towards an intention, liberating consciousness, inviting perfection.

Electribal 9 - Summer Shamānic Mix 2019

Sincere thanks to the beautiful Hedone festival for a magical morning of elves, nymphs, centaurs, satires, witches, magicians and warriors. This set was designed to hold the excitement in dancefloor at 8 in the morning, so expect something fun, bubbly and diverse, like a game of hyperactive children at school recess ;)

Electribal 10 - Hedone Seminar 2019 Summer Mix

This Mix is a blending of the music selected for the Occulture Berlin 2019 conference and the Conscious Creators festival 2019, both opening up the deep and mystical power of Samhain. Each of these songs represents a moment of happiness, gratitude and self-discovery in my last few months. I set my heart with joy and innocence. This is a mix to dance lightly, to listen with children, to close your eyes and feel the wind. This is a slow, tribal downtempo mix, made for chilling and looking inwards, for making and finding love.

Electribal 11 - Conscious Creators Samhain Mix 2019

It's been a while since I published a self-made track. I'm a musician, but I'm not a great audio engineer, which makes me shy when it comes to publishing tracks. But this year I'm starting to get rid of unnecessary fears and shyness. This is my sound. In these sounds are my messages. It may not sound so professional, but I'd rather dig up the buried giant, than let it sleep forever. Otherwise, there might come a time when no one knows what's underneath anymore. 
I hope that in this year 2020, many new songs will rise to the surface :) 
The title of the song comes from the book of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro, who protected me and gave me light this year.

Gabriel Soma - The Buried Giant (Original AF Mix)

It was an honour to be able to play this set at one of the best parties in Berlin, the beautiful BeHome, in the wonderful Beate Uwe. This set is darker than my traditional sets, especially made for dancing late at night under the charm of Imbolc.  Imbolc is a time of celebration and ritual, often honoring Brighid, the goddess of the hearth. This is also a time of new beginnings and of purification. It is the time when we begin to bid farewell to winter to make way for spring. It is a dark time, but one where joy and light abound within the darkness. Thanks to everyone who accompanied this set with immense energy, it was magical to conduct that beautiful orchestra of dancing souls. Love always ;)

Electribal 12 - BeHome Beate Uwe's Imbolc Mix 2020

This musical set was formulated in the Mexican jungle, and consolidated in the summer solstice, or Litha, the pagan celebration of abundance. But the absolute madness of this year has brought rather obstacles and difficulty for thousands of people. That is why this set celebrates the possibility of abundance even in the midst of scarcity. Perhaps the coming times will be difficult, but we still have life, we have flowering nature, we have the intuitive movement of the clouds, the hypnotic singing of the birds, the comforting embrace of our friends. Even in the darkest times, we have to keep celebrating, because the spirit of celebration is carried in the heart, and represents the purest power of gratitude. May this musical mix help you celebrate, whether it is while working, cleaning, cooking or dancing, because celebration must be carried, especially in these times, everywhere we go and in everything we do.

Electribal 13 - Summer -Litha- Renovation Mix 2020

Honestly, the idea of an online festival seemed a little lame and overly attached to me. But then came this beautiful festival, and I had one of the best afternoons of my summer, playing with my friends in my apartment and then listening to excellent musicians playing from different parts of the world. Great idea! Anything to continue the connection, the dancing and the spirit of freedom and liberation. Thanks to the excellent Something Different collective, and especially to Ara, for inviting me to play. I hope you enjoy this set, as it contains some of the best jewels of ethnic downtempo. Electribal 14 - Bällebad @ Drünter & Druber Festival Summer 2020 Mix

I'm so happy to finally present to you this track I made as an homage to this beautiful piece by Max Richter and Grace Davidson. It's my first fully mastered track, so it's kind of a very special baby :P I'm deeply thankful to my wise jungle tribe and my moon woman, who always shone and danced with me. I made this song fully immersed in the surrealist landscape of Xilitla, showered by fireflies, embracing rains and electric storms. I hope that I'm able to transmit some of the vibes of that beautiful experience.

Electribal 15 - Third Eye Fusion Summer 2020 Mix

With love and excitement I present to you the set I have been working on for the last two months. 
When the intention is right and time is enough, it is possible to tell stories through musical mixes. This year has been so intense and chaotic that I had the feeling that it was necessary to build a set that would reflect the history of these times. 
It is not a homogeneous set. On the contrary, it is a deeply eclectic and mutable set, designed to take us through a story of transformation and uncertainty, but also of intense emotions, joyful moments and challenging processes. Like the old Saturnalia celebration, a time of indulgence and intensity. 
I think it is one of my favorite sets so far, and I hope it inspires you, and makes you dance, and brings a sudden smile, or an electric motion, or an instant of bliss.
