“Enigma” is an orchestral work that unfolds an immersive and ever-evolving sonic narrative. From an initial pedal note, like a soft whisper, emerges a harmony that shifts in timbre and texture, weaving an intriguing and evocative sonic landscape. At its climax, an ethereal melody rises and unfolds, contrasting and then merging with the surrounding harmony. The sound layers build and transform, creating an atmosphere in constant expansion. The melodies multiply and intertwine across the orchestra, guiding the listener towards a warm and enigmatic conclusion.

Enigma Gabriel Kauer

Awarded an Honorable Mention in the First Carlos Riesco Musical Composition Contest (2014). It is included in the CD: "Chilean Composers vol.8" by the Chilean Academy of Fine Arts, Institute of Chile.

“Tánur” is a composition for soprano, clarinet, piano, violin, and cello that explores the relationship between two perceptions of time: condensed, where events seem to accelerate and overlap, and extended, characterized by a sense of expansion and pause. These temporal approaches do not appear as opposites but intertwine through interaction mechanisms, creating a continuous coexistence in which the music unfolds dynamically and seamlessly. Melodic lines and textures interact and adapt, forming a flexible, constantly transforming temporal experience.

The piece explores a rich range of textures and dynamics concentrated in brief but expressive temporal segments. The first movement establishes a constant pulse with an aeolian atmosphere, gradually increasing in complexity with scattered, agile gestures that lead to an intense climax. The second movement, intimate in nature, features unusual timbres in a trio of alto flute, piano, and cello, weaving a landscape of irregular rhythms and subtle effects. In the final movement, the piece returns to its initial intensity, combining elements from the previous movements and closing with a grand ascending, resonant, and powerful gesture. The structure reflects a journey oscillating between regularity and irregularity, subtlety and explosiveness, expansiveness and intimacy, inviting the listener to explore contrasting soundscapes in a dynamic balance and constant tension.

Onsomini is a piece for 6 female voices, with original text by Miguel de Unamuno. The work was composed during the V Course in Advanced Composition and Performance of Contemporary Music Copiu 2012, directed by Luca Belcastro. It was premiered at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) in 2012, by Copiuensamble Vocal, under the direction of Rogelio González. It is included in the CD: “Germina.cCiones Copiu: Nuevas Composiciones Vol. 5”.

"Echoes" is a serene composition where the saxophone unfolds a melancholic song. The electronics wrap its melodies using spatialized multiphonics. Gradually, echoes appear: transformed repetitions of the saxophone that vary in tone and speed. From the encounter of these elements, a work of warm and mysterious sonorities is configured.

It begins with a serene, contemplative atmosphere that gradually evolves into a more intense and complex dialogue. Carefully placed silences create introspective spaces, while dynamic development guides the listener through a sonic landscape that grows in texture and complexity.

Penia

FriZon is a composition for flute and piano that unfolds an agile and graceful texture, with a vibrant and interwoven rhythmic flow. It is structured around a continuous dialogue, where both instruments exchange melodic and rhythmic gestures with lightness and precision. Throughout the piece, phantom resonances emerge – subtle echoes produced by the sympathetic resonance of the piano, expanding the sound projection and adding depth to the musical space. The flute and piano flow through a play of reflections, imitations, and contrasts, ultimately dissolving their boundaries into a shared sonority.

FriZon

“Haumea” is a piece for flute and electronics, whose sonic imagination is inspired by the dwarf planet of the same name —an elliptical, fast-spinning celestial body located in the distant Kuiper Belt. The piece unfolds as a sustained exploration of the flute’s timbral nuances, giving rise to a range of delicate and carefully shaped sonic colors. The electronics, built entirely from recordings of the instrument itself, extend and transform its acoustic footprint into suspended textures, filtered resonances, and expanding atmospheres. The interplay between both layers creates an immersive listening experience, where rotation, distance, and remoteness outline an imaginary and far-off sonic geography.

Haumea

“Finis” is a piece for violin and piano that contrasts two complementary sonic planes: the piano unfolds a dynamic and resonant discourse, while the violin explores the melodic and fragile qualities of its natural harmonics. The imagery of the piece arises from the paradox between ending and beginning: the stillness and introspection that accompany an ending, and the latency of beginnings that emerge within it, like a fragment of something greater suspended outside of time.
