Into Sonic States was produced entirely during global isolation while the earth was at a standstill for us all. The chance to bring new ideas and energy into the studio from travels, live performances and sharing special moments with our global music family was replaced with solitude and much one on one time in the studio.

Gabriel Le Mar took this time to reach deep within for inspiration by reintroducing himself to his inner dialogue with music & sound, the result is something rather spectacular.

The tracks range from deep and hypnotic down/midtempo dub driven tracks to uplifting and smoothly flowing progressive chill out grooves with depth, while merging elements of hand played instruments such as guitar together with organic electronics.

Children of their time "Dr. Motte" and "Gabriel Le Mar" started in the early 80`s mixing electronic music, focussing on the pure aspects of dance. Still following that path that led them together searching for the "soul in the machines", the music lovers are playing with the various settings inside their electronic devices to get the sound and atmosphere they were after for.

Gabriel Le Mar’s been on a roll. Not content to recast techno through his simmering dub vernacular to yield ever more bracing results, he manages to construct records of both gorgeous accessibility and wholly entrancing affect. Among Trees I Want To Live finds him returning to Carpe Sonum armed with his characteristic brimstone and brio. 

Back in the 90s, a track sporting the seductive pulsations of “Regenerative” would have been classified as armchair techno; genre tokenisms aside, it is instead a sterling five minutes of neon throb and quacking guitar process that easily casts a spell on the dancefloor and home listening space alike. 

Le Mar states that his latest slab of fair trade organic beatstuffs was “created in the studio, yes, but all the tracks carry the essence of being among trees. And just like the lives of trees, the album is full of mystery.” We second that emotion. He effortlessly mind melds aspects of Underworld with his own Saafi Brothers project throughout the eleven-minute rhythmic maelstrom that is “Imagination Creates”, its arpeggiating turmoil a hypnotic glimpse into the pinholes of whirlpools and dubwise kaleidoscopes. 

"Wisdom of Resistance" echoes the half-seen, mystical forest of dreams with its epic arrangement, while "Electric Leaves” offers a prismatic schism across landscapes excavated as much by Lee Perry as Tangerine Dream. 

Similarly sequenced workouts animate the deep tribal undergrowth of “Network of Life”, magically juxtaposing sounds that don't quite exist in nature yet nurture something akin to the tender, enveloping caress of verdant forests. For Le Mar, beauty certainly is in the ear of the beholder.

On Benevolent Chaos you can listen to deep and thriving electronic dance music with a special focus on the various colours of deep DubTechno and Dub inspired TechHouse.
On eight tracks and two special beatless versions Gabriel Le Mar found his own way to convey his ideas of soulful techno.

'It`s Your Time' picks up the pace with an housey electro, dance-all-night vibe. 'Deep State', 'Telescoping Machine' or 'Evolver' merging the deep atmosphere of Dubtech and the soulful depth of Deephouse with the pumping grooves of loop based Techhouse.

The beatless version of 'On the Beat' is balancing melody, sequence and rhythm, while the last track 'Deepulse Beatless' is finishing the album with basic channel’s Dubtech sounds and atmospheres with detroitish repetitve sequences.

Gabriel Le Mar is a music producer and DJ, releasing electronic music with a special focus on deep sounds with a dub mindset. 

With an open mind and always in a search for fresh musical experiences, Gabriel Le Mar likes to integrate himself in different artistic constellations  with his projects PsyTechProject or Dublocation as well as with the artistic collaboration with Dr. Motte.

With his projects Saafi Brothers and Aural Float, Gabriel composed ambient, space and experimental soundscapes. With Aural Float he worked on audiovisual concepts: as a team they did the artistic supervision of SPACENIGHT, a TV-concept, utilizing spectacular film- and documentary footage from outer space with music made on earth. SPACENIGHT became a success on german television and soon reached cult status among the young night watchers until today.

Solo and with his projects Gabriel Le Mar appeared at festivals like Time Warp, Antaris, Reworks, Roskilde, Sziget, Tribal Gathering, Fusion, Hadra, Ozora, Free Earth...
