House of Cards

Deaf Squad are a production duo hailing from the heart of London, made up of RZR (f.k.a Dr. Colossus, head of Destroy Oh Boy) and Memari Man (formerly of Kings Of The City). Together, the two old friends forge a soundscape that is intense and innovative, drawing on a rich tapestry of influences including industrial, post-rock, dub, and grime.

Inspired by the raw power of The Bug and the sonic complexity of Nine Inch Nails, Deaf Squad draw on their contrasting musical backgrounds of live rock and jungle / breakcore to create a powerful blend that is dark and exhilarating. Their music is a visceral, gut-punch of an experience, and their forthcoming debut EP “Black and Red” is a testament to their years of musical exploration and collaboration. Each track is a journey through uncharted auditory territories, reflecting the duo's deep-seated affinity for experimental sound design and their commitment to producing music that resonates on both an emotional and physical level. 

“Money Maniac” is primed for hands-in-the-air moments, with dub synths that meet jagged industrial percussion. “Glitch” shows off their more ethereal tendencies, whilst maintaining a powerful sense of bass-weight and dread. On “Collateral Damage”, a pulsating drone gives way to stadium-sized post-rock guitar melodies, and closing track “Ready” is pensive and reflective, whilst continuing their foreboding audio tapestry. 

They’re joined on this journey by a number of vocalists, each bringing a unique quality to the tracks: grime legend and Grammy winner Flowdan, dancehall royalty Warrior Queen, and Thryn, a musician and songwriter currently based in Cambridge who draws on folk traditions for their melancholic, choral-inspired harmonies.

Deaf Squad x Thryn - Glitch (Take Me With You)

‘Fashion’ offers a preview of the upcoming collaborative ‘Shadows’ LP from Conscious Route and Supermann on da Beat. An understated, rolling break is coupled with acoustic strings and some keys, leaving plenty of space for Conscious Route and guest MC Pro Focus to deliver rhymes jabbing at rappers who follow stereotypes and trends. Taking turns on the verses before switching to a back-and-forth style, the rappers call out those who can only chat “grimy bars, [about] bitches, coke,” as a “cash-in, they in it for the fashion.”
There is still plenty of time for Conscious Route and Pro Focus to demonstrate their own rhyming credentials as Supermann’s production flows through stuttering breaks and is given space to breathe too. 
If this is a hint of what to expect from the Shadows LP, which is due to be released in 2025, then there is something serious cooking in Scotland right now…

Foi escrita para um concurso da Universidade Federal da Integração Latino Americana (UNILA), universidade pública localizada em Foz do Iguaçu/Brasil. A música recebeu nota 85/100 dos jurados e terminou na sexta colocação. Ficamos muito orgulhosos do resultado e decidimos compartilhar. A música fala do povo latino-americano, nossa terra, nossa cultura e como tudo isso se mantém vivo na UNILA.

Esta canción es una colaboración entre el dúo Esmeraldas (@esmeraldas-som), André Torii y Luis Sucapuca. This song is a collaboration between duo Esmeraldas (@esmeraldas-som), André Torii and Luis Sucapuca. It was written for a contest at the Federal University for Latin American Integration (UNILA), a public university located at Foz do Iguaçu/Brazil. The song receive a score of 85/100 by the judges and ended up at 6th place. We are very proud of the result and decided to share it with you. The song is about the latin american people, our land, our culture and how this all is kept alive at UNILA.
