The North are an Indie, Rock & Roll band, from small Market town of Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Since starting out back in 2010, they’ve supported the likes of Neville Staples (The Specials), Twisted Wheel, and upcoming London band, IC1s. Having released their Debut EP, Lawful Bullet, promoting in venues such as The Leadmill (Sheffield), The Shed (Leicester) & Proud Galleries (London). They’re now ready to record their second EP ready for release Winter/Spring 2013.

Fran Smith is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer from Yorkshire, UK.

A mesmerising solo performer, she was named a ‘Live Music Highlight of the Year’ by the BBC in 2014.

Her songs are disarmingly romantic, witty, sensuous and “refreshingly uncompromising… both brutal and beautiful” (Folk Radio UK).   She weaves intimate, piano-based pop melodies with a dark, baroque quirkiness that evokes Florence Welch, Joanna Newsom and Antony Hegarty

Fran has performed in the US, Canada, and all over the UK, and has supported artists such as Martha Wainwright, Athlete, The Unthanks and John Cooper Clarke.  Her songs have been played on BBC Radio 2, Radio 4 and 6 Music.

With roots in the folk, rock, jam-band and funk scenes, Sarah Blacker and her band fuse their vibrant musical worlds together to create an original, soulful sound. 

The project, which regularly features keyboardist Phil Selesnick & other special guests, is comprised of Sarah Blacker & Aaron Z. Katz, both award-winning songwriters and performers whose influences include Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Erykah Badu and Jamiroquai to name a few. 

Aaron Katz with over 20 years of national and international touring, is the singer/songwriter/producer/drummer from the successful jam-band, Percy Hill. Percy Hill won the Jammy Award for ‘Album of the Year’ in 2000 and continues sell-out rooms on the jam club and festival scene. The band recently reunited after an 8-year hiatus, to sold-out shows at Port City Music Hall in Portland, ME and The Paradise, Boston. 

Sarah Blacker was named ‘Female Performer of the Year’ in the 2013 New England Music Awards, and has built a devoted following both nationally and internationally via extensive touring, passionate singing and songwriting, and belief in the power of music. Her motto, #songssavelives speaks to her work as a Music Therapist, and her coming up on the jam-band concerts and festivals scene. She feels enthusiastic about re-connecting/moving with this fun-loving group of people, now as an accomplished musician and performer. 

The duo just returned from JamCruise 15 (http://www.JamCruise.com) during which they performed at several locations and stages throughout the floating festival.

DJ Dain (Andrew Bowers) is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning composer, producer and DJ specializing in Mashups, Summer Jams, and feel-good tracks unearthed from Dance Music's basement. He mixes sets that sound like 2manyDJs hijacked one of Dr. Dre's samplers that's being haunted by the ghost of Frank Zappa. He also produces Nedcore Hip-Hop under the guise of DJ Skull Kid. If you're looking for a performance DJ who brings the creative energy of a rock-star, he's your man.
