@soelaela is the DJ and production alias of Elina Shorokhova, a Russia-born Berlin-based experienced pianist and vocalist who has made a hugely successful transition into electronic music. With a style that combines house, dub techno, and experimental electronica, Soela is creating versatile tracks and mixes, and we are very happy to have her on board on our tenth episode of this mix series.

With releases on Scissor and Thread, Kompakt or Dial  Soela moves fluidly between house, dub techno, and experimental electronica. Collaborations with Philipp Priebe, Steve O’Sullivan, and Module One reveal her instinct for connection — sound as dialogue, rhythm as language.

Based in Berlin, born in Russia, she builds bridges between warmth and restraint, memory and momentum. Every track, every set — a quiet conversation that lingers.

@maya-halaseh is a Jordan-born, London-based selector and DJ with a deep love for digging and collecting music, driven by a desire to create space and community through sound. This approach shapes her role as a co-founder of Naqd , a party series rooted in intimacy and inclusivity within Jordan’s underground scene. For this Gabu mix, Maya weaves through deeper shades of house, leaning into spacey, percussive grooves.

He is also the founder of Phono Sound System, a high-fidelity custom sound stack he built in the UAE with sound-system builder Uncle Ronnie and his company 8Mile Sound.
