Previously appearing on MixCult Digital, a.trofimov brings a focused, deep-rooted approach that fits seamlessly within the Crossfade Sounds framework, favoring atmosphere and subtle motion over excess. Opening with Underwave, the EP sets a submerged, hypnotic tone, before Submarine Dreams drifts into more fluid, introspective territory, offering a restrained yet confident first statement that signals a promising new addition to the label's roster.

New show alert! Marlie presents First Gear, every 3rd Tuesday of the Month 6-8PM CET

First Gear is the ignition point for a few projects set to be released by Marlie this year — a collective push to deliver music in fresh ways, across diverse platforms. Think of it as your engine starting for the night ahead: a steady warm-up before the party goes full throttle - That feeling of forward motion.

Marlie’s story begins in London, where she traded the shores of Sydney for Europe’s underground, setting her on a new course shaped by rhythm, discipline, and curiosity. Her project Roots started in Sydney, taking over small, improvised spaces before growing in London from intimate gatherings to Room 2 at Fabric, and eventually into a wider platform for connection and forward-thinking sounds. Since then, she has played hundreds of shows across Europe and beyond, including appearances at Fabric, DC10, FUSE, and Shelter, and continues to carve her path with focus and forward motion, always in the driver’s seat.

Dropping the next chapter of our mix series, we’re joined by @o-squared Bood, a quietly renowned DJ in his region. For this edition, he delivers a deep mix built around hidden and forgotten records. Beyond the decks, he’s also one of the co-founders of Soundscapes Zanzi Festival, a unique, sun-soaked and moonlit musical experience on the east coast of Zanzibar. He is also the founder of Phono Sound System, a high-fidelity custom sound stack he built in the UAE with sound-system builder Uncle Ronnie and his company 8Mile Sound.

Since its inception in 2023, rooted in the ethos of Gabu, an Arabic term for “basement”, the label has become synonymous with music that bridges sounds from the Middle East to Europe and beyond, connecting underground communities through forward-thinking production.
