This track was recorded some years back, after Dirty Hairy shared his 'Jazflats' instrumental with his listeners. It was due to instant inspiration that led to a pen being brandished and the mic device being assembled in a dark corner of the audio dojo for the Soulful Jackanory (Gadget) to zone out upon the funky sound-waves that originated from  the actual 'Jazflat', the once location of the dynamic duo, Dirty Treats. Once Gadget had completed his journey through time, space and sound, Hairy was contacted so he could hear the additional science that Gadget had applied to his original formula. The two were pleased with the overall result and concluded in agreement that this was something that was to be shared with the world. Thus, 'Gimmie A Break.'

Gadget & Lady Paradox - Modern Reflective ft. Anna Stott

Lady Paradox and Gadget have actually talked about working together since 2008, when they found a mutual respect for each other’s craft and work ethic over the years. Like many collaborators, it was a case of trying to mutually find the perfect time to commit to the many ideas they had in mind. Now, after a few collaborations via compilations and the odd single release, they have finally managed to conjure up their first collaborative project entitled ‘Mood Swings’. The album nicely blends Jazz infused beats with laid back vocals and a sense of familiarity that leaves us wondering why this project hadn't happened sooner.

Just having a bit of fun on this one. I'm a fan of dark beats, horror movies and Halloween, and I've really grown to enjoy making concept and theme based music in general. So to bring all of that together is just enjoyment for me. I hope you like this one. Next time I'll do a whole horrorcore EP or album of beats.

This will be the fourth and final single off of the Sequences 3.0 beat tape of new and unreleased instrumentals as I work on my next official album.

This is simply a little project which is in similar fashion to our earlier tribute albums from our first three seasons. However, in this case the Jazz Jousters were each challenged to get digging in the crates and work with Jazz music from the year 1969 and come up with something in their own style. With the result of sixteen tracks to come out of this challenge it's safe to say it was a worthwhile session to get the creative juices flowing.

We hope you like this one!!

Oh but there's more... keep an eye out in December for the 7th anniversary 12" album which will follow this one to close the year.

A Guyanese/Dominican born and raised in North London and now residing in a secret location known as Gadgistan. Born into both a musical family and community where music was always around and became Gadget's first love at a very young age. Besides dabbling with instruments and production equipment left around by his father or brother, Gadget became a young DJ/MC in the underground rave scene and was often a favourite at various showcases, party nights and radio stations. He began to get deeper into production and started building his own studio in order to take out the "needing favours" element, and he has never looked back since. Gadget is now a self taught Sound Engineer, Producer, Vocal Artist, Ghost Writer, DnB DJ, occasional promoter, founder and project manager of the Jazz Jousters collective and the @MillenniumJazz Music label.
