My name is Ilya Surmay, I’m a DJ and a producer from Ukraine. I discovered psychedelic chillout music in 2015 and instantly became a huge fan of it. With a bit of a background as a drummer and a guitarist I then began to learn music production and DJing. Over the years I played at local parties and festivals in Ukraine and released a few tracks under the name “Highlighted”, also I have another project “il ya” that’s all about slow chill beats with less psy and more lo-fi sound.

It is now my honor to return to this wonderful Universo Paralello Festival (Bahia, BR) for another performance on the Chill Out Stage after such a difficult and sensitive period of a pandemic on our planet! This festival has a very special meaning for me, since it is my favorite event and, as those close to me know, it is where I started to idealize my project. Recently I have been extremely impacted in a positive and inspirational way by the birth of my beloved son Jojo, to whom I dedicate this work, intending to gather my energy and eternalize all the wonderful vivid feelings that I experienced since his birth. And it is within this context of overcoming and great love that I developed the theme of this sound line, being able to draw a special message for such an important occasion: “Life is a miracle”. Coming to electronic culture at the age of less than 18, he acquired his knowledge at the first raves in the era of vinyl and actively attending all the top events of that time and absorbing the trends of various musical styles and cultures. Becoming more and more famous in Moscow crowd, he found out about 2 informal capitals of the "electronic underground" - Goa and Koh Phangan, and in addition to domestic events, since 2013 he began to gain his musical expirience in Asia and India. One thing can be said - each musical voyage with his music is an unusual journey - an adventure, flavored with samples / unusual loops and delivering bright emotions, regardless of the musical style he plays.

The twenty-eighth release from Chilean label Halcxn is led by Chilean DJ and producer Kamila Govorčin, currently based in Croatia. On this occasion, she presents a body of work centered on ambient music: an eight-track album conceived and experienced as a continuous sonic journey from beginning to end. The album stands out for its narrative coherence, giving meaning to each moment through the thoughtful use of synthesizers, breaks, vocals, and silence.

In the artist’s own words:

“After a long night, at dawn, the dew appears — a gentle gift from the sky. In alchemical practices, dew is collected because it is associated with the universal spirit; a substance that can dissolve, transmute, and regenerate. The base of an elixir. This idea inspired me to create Rocío, a full-length album I began working on a year ago to present at an event by Osvaldo Sotomayor, and which I finally completed in Rijeka, Croatia. Over the course of 48 continuous minutes, elements of ambient, breaks, downtempo, acid, and trip hop are combined, creating a sonic journey that is reminiscent, hypnotic, warm, and fluid.”

Here is a B2B collaboration DJ set present to you with love, complied by Neon Jesus and Ant Nebula.

This B2B Dj set has manifested via today's ear of technology,  corresponding with each other back and forth to create a journey for you, the listener. 
Despite the different countries and time zones, we did not have the luxury to meet up and delve into a live recording, but the way we collaborated on this set had a natural evaluation. 

A big THANK YOU goes Neon Jesus for his commitment. Combining our love for music, talent, and professionalism.
