Justina "JustIrene" Banks hails from Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. JustIrene began writing raps at the age of fourteen. Growing up, being the only girl out of three older brothers, they were the first influences on her to begin her career in the Rap field. JustIrene became well rounded in the gangsta/hardcore rap scene that her brothers were in. Her musical influences at that time were Foxy Brown, Nas and Jay-Z. To launch her into the arena of Gospel Rap came the meeting of her husband and now manager, Damon Banks. JustIrene turned her life over to Christ, to use her gifts to bring people into the kingdom.
JustIrene is taking the Gospel scene by storm with her "Street but Sweet" approach to Gospel Rap. Her goals in the Gospel arena are to reach the streets, to bring people of all ages within the world to Christ and to be someone who can show them that loving Jesus is a great thing. Bringing her New York flavor and compassion for souls, JustIrene is hitting the block...being a foot soldier in the concrete jungles, bringing one message and one message only... Jesus Saves!
