After a brief break, Forbidden Planet Radio is back with a mix by Novi Svijet (@user-593556010), a new Swiss label that recently launched with an excellent album by DJ Loser (@loser111)last fall. The mix itself listens like a soundtrack to a mid-century horror movie, think a slow walk through a desolate landscape or an abandoned dungeon. I.e. it sounds killer.

We're very happy to welcome Nikolajev, a DJ and producer from Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. He's someone we've been excited about for a while having seen him DJ in Amsterdam a few times always delivering his trademark brand of bone-shaking EBM, House, Acid, and everything in between. His diverse productions are described as "different internal dialogues; sometimes soundtracking a feeling reminiscent of lustful 80s synthwave, whilst also putting out diametrically opposed distressed and disjointed dancefloor hitters". These have been released on labels like Collect-Call, Incienso, Marguerite Records, PÄÄSTEVEST, with a recent contribution to Post Bar's VA from last year and an EP on Hangman Satellite. This selection can be best described as a collage "for the heads to nod" that focuses on music he's been sinking his teeth into in the last months. Lock in!

The first guest in August is Brooklyn-based veteran producer, DJ, and performer R. Gamble. Originally from Memphis, he runs the Lost Soul Enterprises label which boasts releases by Bergsonsist, J Tijn, Shit and Shine, Vapauteen, and others. What began as a monthly night in the infamous Bushwick dive bar Wreck Room is now a residency at Good Room, H0L0, and The Lot Radio, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2022. Aside from releasing on his own imprint, his work is featured on labels such as Mannequin Records, Public Systems Recordings, Primitive Languages, Marguerite Records, and more.
