Throughout my entire career as a musician I have had a seemingly endless folder of short demos, lost projects files,
things I’ll get to later but never actually will and assorted other abandoned ideas.
Some of them make up the best things I’ve ever written and for reasons that only the universe can explain, they remain unfinished or forever in limbo.

Strangely so many of these ideas seem to clock in at 90 Seconds and the idea to release a compilation album of them was born. Knowing how many people had mountains of similar short tunes, I assembled a crew of 59 artists and myself, making 60 in total. Each of us has unearthed something that we hold dear, or created something especially for the project. While focusing primarily on Drum and Bass there is other genres represented like Dubstep, Jungle, Breakbeat and Hardcore.

The 90 Second Maximum was initially a project geared around showing love to the records in history that mean the most to me. The time length allowed on my favourite social media outlet is 90 Seconds, and over the last 18 months I have been creating a body of content that is pure love from the heart. Sending flowers to the music and the music makers who have touched me the most. 

Now it is time to showcase some amazing musicians and in the process set free some of the magic these people have created. The compilation features a host of names but some notable mentions are Rusko, Ekko and Sidetrack, Zak Meow, Sadie, Physics, Armour, Kintsuku, Sample Bandit, Nixon and Pete Cannon.

Quizás conoces a Chuwi por su colaboración en "WELTiTA" en DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS de Bad Bunny, pero antes de eso, sacaron su EP titulado "Tierra" con esta canción "Mundi". 

Me encantó la original y hice un house edit para tocar en mis sets.

Traté de mantener todo lo que hacía especial a la original, con algunos momentos más enfocados para discotecas y para que los DJs puedan mezclarlo.

You might know Chuwi from their collaboration on "WELTiTA" on Bad Bunny's DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, but before that they released their EP titled "Tierra" with this song "Mundi". 

I loved the original and made a house edit to play in my sets. 

I tried to keep everything that made the original special, with some club focused moments and space for DJs to mix in and out of.

Galbis Live at Subdrive at the 303 - February 27th, 2016

In 2004, Subdrive label head wrote a track that would never end up being released on his own or on Subdrive. It was a rough sketch of a mix of the sounds he was playing at the time. Slowed down tech step, crossed with progressive house pads and leads. It was an emotional, but aggressive tune.

Today Silver Disco has taken the tune and remixed it into an uplifting subdued house tune. Rich analog pads and a reverberating melody bring you back to the fond memories of the ones you love.

For the past few years Subdrive has been doing events on and off, releases here and there, but we finally started to hit our stride in 2016 with consistent events, curation, and culminating with a return to releasing music. So when it came time to put out SUB027, @Jordiven's first release with us, it felt right to do a proper release party. Jordi's music brought us together for our debut event in the Panther Room at Output celebrating the release of the new record; I had opening duties.

For Subdrive to return to Brooklyn after close to 10 years of existence, the borough where it all started for us, and to play in one of the world's best nightclubs just a few blocks away from where we threw our very first parties in grimy hipster bars... well that felt pretty amazing.

This set is filled with music I love, new music from friends who released on Subdrive in the early days, a chat with my father giving life advice to club-goers (no really, go listen for it), and closing out with one of the most epic releases from a friend I've heard this year.
