Down the Cold Mountain is a percussion ensemble piece that's designed to show the thrilling action, intense speed, and high stress that comes from skiing/snowboarding down a cold, snowy, windy mountain.

To Become the Wind is inspired by one of my favorite scenes in all of fiction. The Alchemist, by Paul Coelho, is an amazing story about following your true feelings and never giving up, among other things. This song is a musical representation of the scene where The Boy is tasked to prove he's an alchemist by becoming the wind. Whether you've read the story or not, this piece will make you feel the same excitement I felt when reading this scene.

To Become the Wind

When I was graduating high school, I felt miserable knowing that I would soon have to leave all my friends and family behind as I went off to college. This song is a representation of those feelings, beginning with an excitement about moving on with life, but later overtaken with sorrowness with the realization that I am leaving my old life behind, ending with acceptance. It's never goodbye, it's always See You Later.
