Three 6 Mafia founding member <a href="http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/magazine/gangsta-boo-interview">Gangsta Boo</a> and Barcelona-based RBMA grad <a href="http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/people/sinjin-hawke">Sinjin Hawke</a> team up for the likely / unlikely collaboration "Yea Hoe." The track succeeds in translating the bare-boned Memphis sound into a club-ready hi-fi hurrah. 

Built on gloomy vocal wails and big brass, the track is paced with discipline, exploding into a spectacular slice of low-slung orchestral crunk, before giving anyone a chance to take their elbows back down.

Zounds! A midweek treat for the weary psychedelic travelers shackled to desks and manning the meatpacking lines. Perched on the precipice of a massive fall tour complete with a stunning new live show and a gaggle of special guests, Ott has blessed The Untz with unholy water (it stings) and a fancy new single hot off the presses and straight from the laboratory. "Baby Robot" is a lush, symphonic piece oozing with walls of cushy synths and a hypnotic beat that laps up against the ethereal vox like waves on the shore.

The B-Side "Mr. Balloon Hands" is a trippy, broken beat opus riddle with Indian raga scatting and plenty of exotic percussion to get those tired feet moving. Bouncy, buoyant, and ebullient, this cut will push you over onto the safety of the weekend whereupon Ott triumphantly returns to the great state of Colorado with a pair of shows on the 13th and 14th: first at the Mish up near Ft. Collins, and then Boulder bound on Saturday. The rest of the country need not fret, the brand new show hits cities big and small from coast to coast through the month of September and into October with Bluetech, Anomie Belle, Aligning Minds, and many more incredible acts.

Ott - Mr Balloon Hands [EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE]

Moscow-based electronic music label Time Resonance Music's founder MINDEX's deep, mellow, jazzy-glitchy set starts on 11th December 2013 Wednesday 8pm CET on the Chill channel.

Mindex's musical path began at the age of 15, when he heard the sound of drum and bass for the first time. His reaction was, "Wow! What is it?! It is so complex!" From that moment on, Mindex felt a subconscious desire to create the same kind of music, but was completely unsure where to learn how to do so. And only after few years, by listening to the various radio programs, Mindex discovered the existence of the analog synths, and that his favorite music was created with computers and software. After that, his path became much clearer. When Mindex was 19, he got his first computer, and a period of intensive familiarization with a world of software and music making technology followed. He then entered a period of active musical exploration, listening to all sorts of different styles of music, from classical and jazz, to most weird idm. Mindex's first tracks were created using a Sony Acid Pro and Rebith RB-303. Later he came to use Cubase and bought all the necessary equipment for quality sound production. By that time he had gone quite far in his sound experiments, trying his hand at almost every genre of electronic music such as psy-trance, minimal techno, breakbeat, electro, ambient and idm. Having absorbed the most interesting elements of each style, Mindex eventually acquired his own recognizable signature. At the moment, this artists's sound is dominated by stylings of jazz, glitch-hop, trip-hop, dubstep and unobtrusive, laconical psychedelia. With each release, Mindex surprises his audience with musical innovations, and it's always fascinating to guess what he will bring us next time.

Swampstep is a real thing, and it is certainly no joke. Minneapolis’ Curtis Czock, AKA BogTroTTer, is not only a pioneer of the genre, but a true master of marshland music. He marched through the mud with “Sonic Visions” in 2013, crept through the quagmire with “Catawompus” and “Jamais Vu” in 2014, and now he’s returned to grace the glades with his profound style of experimental bass music. 

“Dark Matter” commences with an intense cacophony of sound that immerses the mind entirely. After converging with unmatched vivacity, the track springs forward through a potpourri of gurgles, snaps, clicks, and vigorously spirited drum progression. The self-titled opener is more than enough to whet the appetite for more BogTroTTer, and the last minute of the song can only be described as a phantasmagoric pilgrimage through the peat bog. 

“Cerberus” focuses more on the intricacies of percussion, and how they work in harmony with the producer’s complex layering. The name is appropriate - by the end you either feel like you have three heads, or that you might be at the gates of hell. 

“SkairHaap” slows it down a bit - this track has more of a hop to it. Cerebral, psychedelic, dance floor music that gets you so low to the ground you’re slithering. This track wriggles its way through a funky bassline, eccentric glitches, and a complicated series of articulate vocal distortions.

The aptly named “Ghoul Train” is just what one would expect - a ghastly, spine-chilling adventure through eerie vibrations. The track begins with a spooky intonation that could only come from a demonic locomotive - you’d halfway expect to hear Ozzy yell “All Aboard!” The track’s hauntingly ominous quality is both stimulating and thought provoking, and by the end you’ll be cuttin’ the rug, begging for a return trip.

The 5-piece project finds its conclusion with “Reptiles.” If you’ve learned anything, its probably that BogTroTTer appropriately names his productions. The denouement is reminiscent of the lizard lounge at the zoo - minuscule creatures shuffling along through the greenery. There’s also a somewhat cosmic feel to this track - the progression towards the beginning is evocative of something out of Star Wars, powering up the blaster, or readying an X-wing for takeoff. And once it takes off, you better believe we’re going Warp Drive.

In the end, BogTroTTer’s cerebral and inventive approach to sound design and song construction is as creative as it is baffling. Where do these sounds come from? Who’s mind is capable of creating such sonic preeminence? What just happened? The only answer is BogTroTTer.

It's the Italian producers' second contribution to the series, after having amassed quite a few nods with sneaky club anthems "Hexagon" and "Bermuda" (KOMPAKT EXTRA 83). Following on from their Record Store Day ‘Looped EP’ release, which featured remixes by Dauwd and Lubomyr Melnyk, Kiasmos – made up of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen – return with three new tracks and a remix by Tale Of Us.

Recorded in various locations including Reykjavík and Berlin, the EP opens with ‘Drawn’, a four-minute percussion fuelled track with gentle piano motifs. ‘Gaunt’ features the addition of ambient synths and a drum loop, underpinned by slow-moving chords. Title track ‘Swept’ which the duo offered to fans as a surprise gift in form of a free download card at previous show dates, showcases a more club-oriented beat structure alongside Kiasmos’ signature emotive instrumentation. 
 
Closing the EP is a remix from Berlin-based duo Tale of Us who met Kiasmos in London and twist the original downbeat title track
into their distinctively dark aesthetic. Pulsating hats and a driving bass loop add pace as the track builds toward an epic breakdown.

The ‘Swept EP’ will be released on 12”/DL via Erased Tapes on November 20th, 2015.

Kaiserdisco are back on Drumcode with 3 brand new tracks including the heavy hitting ‘Black Light’, that has been championed by Adam Beyer in recent sets. ‘Black Light’ uses old school stabs that weave up and down to create a roller coaster of a ride. ‘SQ 80’ and ‘Manley’ are groovy numbers that really show Kaiserdisco’s versatility.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (11th December) In Hour 2 Strictly Kev from DJ Food takes a chronological trip through Rammellzee's intricate, confusing, yet always unique recording career as a new exhibition of artwork celebrating his Cosmic Flush album opens in London. Starting with the classic 'Beat Bop' you can hear the evolution of styles through the decades which show that Ramm was in there sowing the seeds of his Gothic Futurism and Iconoclast Panzerism theorums. Through his 80s Hip hop output, 90s collaborations and 00s return and the final album before his untimely death in 2010, it's all here. It's not always an easy ride, you either followed him or got off the bus, but for those willing to stay on board there was no one else who drove quite like this.
