“A raw, uncompromising force”: Julie Pavon conducts grand electronic melodrama on debut album

In the past five years since her debut single ‘Herd Animals’, the Danish-Honduran singer and electronic artist has been quietly stirring in the waters of the Copenhagen underground, now and then peaking her head into the spotlight with an unexpected single drop or a “somatically unforgettable” (Soundvenue) live performance.
 
Early tracks ‘Jealous’, ‘Herd Animals’ and ‘Don’t Call Me Out’ quickly carved out a space for her distinct style, a “combustible blend of impassioned lyrics and club-geared beats” (DJ Mag). Meanwhile Pavon had her focus on exploring new styles and sounds, fresh ways expressing what she is primarily interested in: the dual effects of exhilaration and distress fundamental to being young at this moment.
 
Now, with her first full-length project, Pavon accelerates the darkness, unveiling a grand electro-tragedy of an album. Born With Heartbreak is intense, anxious and existential, with Pavon’s pathos-saturated vocals racing through an array of style references.
 
Pavon herself describes the album as “a raw, immediate and uncompromising force.”
 
On the artistic ambition behind the album, she explains: “I want to capture moments of pure and unrestrained emotion. I’m very drawn to duality and contrasts in my artistic process, as my life is so full of it. Ecstasy and anxiety. Crying out freely. Being myself unapologetically and feeling the strength in that.”
 
Pavon has collaborated with producer Oliver Orssten to create the shapeshifting sound of the album. House music luminary Musumeci also features twice on the album (‘Can’t Stop Crying’, ‘Love How You Dance’), while Gabriel Gifford is behind the production of ‘Passenger’.
 
Born With Heartbreak will be released September 19th on Music For Dreams.

When the Green Tiger discovered us four moons ago, we quickly learned he was not an ordinary tiger. It was not his color or his size, it was the anger he had for us. First, he attacked our livestock — the sheep, the pigs, the chickens — but not to eat, just to kill. He taunted us with his evil, leaving the dying animals in a row outside our door. Whatever animals he did not kill outright, died within an hour or so from the vile poison of the tiger’s touch. We knew it was just a matter of time before he caught one of us. We kept the children and whatever animals we had left inside. A-Gong, my husband, studied furiously, trying to find out more about this powerful monster who tormented us. Musical Religion is a gentleman you’ve met in a past life. This is his first offering for Shango Records. This track will guide you through enlightenment. Ashed Lion and Hencke are the side guiders to the journey beyond the stars.

coss and Zettka make their full debut on Bar 25 Music with the EP "They Left Traces", following their recent single "Mecha Love Transmission". Both based in Berlin, the two producers represent a new wave of artists shaping the city’s evolving electronic landscape through deeply emotional and imaginative soundscapes.

coss, a prolific live act, DJ, and label founder behind Metanoia, Mimoton, and Betonstrand, has built a reputation for fusing hypnotic grooves with storytelling and introspection. Zettka, a fellow Berlin artist and member of the Betonstrand collective, is known for his cinematic sound and Turkish-inspired melodic touch, creating music that bridges cultures while staying rooted in the club’s pulse.

"They Left Traces" unfolds across four tracks, blending ethereal textures with dynamic rhythm. From the atmospheric "Gravity Isn’t Home" to the cosmic "Ghost In My Spacesuite", including its remix by Kleintierschaukel & Audio GTS, and concluding with their earlier single "Mecha Love Transmission", the release captures the duo’s shared vision: emotional, forward-looking and distinctly Berlin.
