A breath, a blink, a firefly…
That’s all this life becomes.
A story scratched in ashes,
On borrowed bones and lungs.

We run from the shadows,
But they walk by our side.
Every kiss, every scar,
Will someday be denied.

Memento Mori, remember the end.
The grave waits gently… for foe and for friend.
Each second a jewel we’re too blind to see,
Till we rot into soil, and finally breathe free.

Memento Mori,  this pain is divine.
Even tears are sacred when you’re out of time.
So scream while you’re breathing, burn while you can—
We are gods for a moment, then ghosts in the sand.

They build temples on our backs,
Name stars after our pain.
But we die unknown, unheard,
Flesh washed into the drain.

But that coffee with your brother,
That glance from someone new
Those seconds are the altar
Where existence speaks its truth.

There’s no heaven without endings,
No love without decay.
You can’t find what matters…
Till it’s slipping away.

It struck me once I heard the story, I asked for permission to write a song from it and this happened. Get lost in the grooviness of the whole track, the riffs are wild!
