SECOND SONG CREATION! After we wrote "Noize outside" we had to keep going. "A lifetime we seek" was next. Josh had been throwing some sounds together one day and I came over to listen.. the original track sounded cool but there was one sound in the mix that I absolutely loved. Eventually we decided to take it from the song and create an entirely different track. This is the result! I ended taking some freestyle hits on it and Josh found some melodies he liked and threw them together. We never rerecorded the song. Another gem born from thin air. The lyrics are a little cloudy but here they are so you can follow along...

If you check out the structure of this song, you will see that Josh and I never follow one. LOL but really, the songs are made piece by piece- Josh throwing some beats to me and I hopefully catch them in some way so that I can throw some words back and he can go through all the melodies and create our song. Its crazy how this works... all of these songs were made through numerous freestyles and then we go back and pick out the pieces that we like. Josh is usually the one to find the hook and peace the song together from the random shots in the dark I take. Its fun because you never know what's going to come out. This song is perfect. We're really starting to feel it in this one...Josh was able to give me some ideas for the chorus and holding the note for as long as I did and it turned out awesome.

THE FIRST TRACK- FIRST TAKE- FIRST BEAUTIFUL SOUNDS- WE EVER CREATED TOGETHER: and it just magically formed! How the hell did I know I had that much to say? No idea... but somehow it all makes sense and Josh's music just FEEDS you. There's literally a part of the song where the music drops out and then comes back in SCREAMING.  I'm pretty sure we decided to just fuck around with some ideas after some super lengthy deep  bender of a conversation that Josh and I had about the world ending or darkness taking over..HAHA.. but truly- who knew we were so full of beautiful noise? This was just the beginning

Shit. Hit. The. Fan on this one!!! Man oh man how do I even explain where this came from? To describe this song in one word: DIRTY. Out of our minds, we started this song. Went out to a show. Came back and wrote more. We were on fire. I can see Josh now like a mad scientist, towering over his keyboard and computer----configuring the best possible noise for me to just pour out over. Truth be told I had just watched the movie "Straight Outta Compton" was was feeling super charged with energy. Somewhere along the line I got this funky reggaetone vibe and we pounded our hearts and souls into this song all night long. "Up All Night" has some missing peaces...but it was born a masterpiece*

The first time I heard this beat I wasn't quite sure what to think of it. Josh had been working on it and I was out on a camping trip with my friend Katie. We're just hanging out in our hammocks watching the sun go down with the lake around us and I get this track called "klunk"... I'll have to admit that the first few seconds I couldn't really make up my own mind about it and then the BEAT CAME IN. Josh always knew how to make some nasty nastiness... and I couldn't wait to sing on it. The day I finally got to let loose on this nasty beat I just let these few simple words out. "MAKE UP YOUR MIND".. I sang it over and over again just letting it come and go as it wanted to. We also recorded some other freestyles that could probably be turned into verses... but we chose to keep it just like it is. It doesn't take much to feel the deepness of this song. Get into it and MAKE UP YOUR MIND

This track is great because it came out of nowhere. Like most of our tracks, Josh and I like to let things roll. By chance, he had this stowed away deep in the back of his mind... until the moment I heard it ...I fell in love. This is the first RAW take- - the beat wrapped its arms around me, and like butter I melted into it. There were all sorts of things that we tried to write for this song, as I am still yet to hear a "finished" version. I never could quite replicate the ease and calmness that slid around in my voice that day..so this version is still my favorite to play. As soon as the head phones were on and my eyes were closed, I was in a convertible out in the middle of nowhere under the stars with my hair blowing in the wind. It was a dream
