Welcome to Nocturne - my first Advent album in about five years! This one celebrates darkness. Hope you enjoy.

This tune was inspired by a video from a YouTube creator called Stargaze. It was a simulation of sunrise on a multitude of planets, with the last one being Sedna, a dwarf planet with an orbit of 11,400 years. The segment was barely a minute long but it was so beautifully haunting, the sun only a little brighter than Venus, shining plaintively over a barren icy rock. 
Watching it I felt such a powerful sense of awe mixed with profound loneliness, imagining being so far from the planet and star that gave me life. The emotions it inspired were psalmic, and of course things got a little Sufi, imagining the sun as the Holy Beloved and the unbearable beauty of the dark void (Layla at her most Platonic!) What I didn't realize, though, until I listened to the finished product (and fell apart) was that also, this is a song about my mother. Mum is deep in the thicket of young-onset Alzheimer's with aphasia. She rarely speaks and it's unclear what she can even perceive. I've never felt so far from her, and yet I hold out hope that in some mystical way, we are still together somehow.

Thousands of years ago the cyborg god Maschinimus arrived at planet earth to turn it into a machineplanet.
Fortunately the alcohol, especially the art of beer brewery, turned out as better then anywhere else in die multiverse. So Maschinimus had a break at first.
But since a few hundred years we must notice, that Maschinimus is working on his plans harder then ever.

Using the cosmic microwave background, i was able to record his travel to earth. As you can hear, Maschinimus violated the laws of intergalactic travels. Probably he was drunk as always.
Now it's the time to make him pay.
