Following on from releasing on the various artists compilation on 3024 - “It Was Always There Vol 1”, Planète returns with a long awaited 4 track exploring new territories and sound landscapes.

Shuffling away from straight grooves of earlier muses, Planète takes time to explore the irregular pulses of broken beat rhythms whilst maintaining introspective colour on this new EP. Central to the messages in his explorations, "Eternal Now" represents a reconfiguration of sonic interpretation and reflection.

Opener 'Stony Creek Reserve' rattles and throbs, consuming a poly-rhythmic bass bedrock and dubbed stabs with crisp and glitched crackles whilst 'Passing Through' lightens the deep with a skipping kick drum and memorable percussion melodies guided by an anchored bass hit.

On the flip, echoing and spooky wooden hits fill the terrain whilst stark bass movements in 'Meteor' rain and mutate a broken techno groove. Closing up, allowing the energy to release, 'Eternal Now' gives rise to vast space in reverberated strikes and wobbled stabs under the hood of slow thuds and thin hisses.

This return shows versatility and growth in sonic descriptions, edging towards a bridge of found sounds and clinical club music. His latest contribution shows the breadth and current appetite for bass centric curations and meticulous high frequency attention refining his signature for evolving storytelling.

Lars Blek & Johan Skön - 2 (2003)

Italian duo Davide Perrone and Gabriele Giuggioli have been releasing music as Primal Code for 5 years now, consistently illustrating vivid atmospheric dub techno soundscapes with varying degrees of energy. 

With releases on Hypnus Records and Kalahari Oyster Cult, in addition to many VA compilations, the duo’s productions have become a staple in deep techno sets for the past few years.

Today we premiere their new track “Adansonia”, the opener from GLYPHS:WOOD, the next release on Polygonia’s Munich-based Qeone imprint. The track is more glitchy than the duo’s previous work, but features their signature sounds that are equal parts intergalactic, dreamy, aquatic.

✨MADMOIZEL (@madmoizel) is a Paris-based composer, performer and producer. Classically trained, the French artist draws inspiration from neo-classical to punk to electronic music. Known for her captivating live performances with a frontal and minimalist set-up, her powerful vocals and precise gestures transform her performances into a Synth Lyricism and Techno Cathedral. 
Since 2010, having played alongside Anne Clark, Kas Product, John Maus, Peine Perdue..., she travels the underground clubs, European festivals, goth and queer scenes, as well as the fashion and contemporary art scenes, collaborating with choreographers and visual artists. To date, 5 albums have been released on independent European labels, as well as remixes, singles and featuring.

KENNETH JAMES GIBSON, one of the most multifaceted artists in electronic music today, enlists for the fourth instalment in our POP AMBIENT artist album series - he's the mastermind behind the Adjunct Audio label and projects as diverse as [a]pendics.shuffle, Eight Frozen Modules, Reverse Commuter, neo-americana duo Bell Gardens (with Stars Of The Lid's Brian McBride) or noise pop band Furry Things. On THE EVENING FALLS, he deviates from his other, more beat-infused work and explores vast aural landscapes with an intricately woven tapestry of swelling string drones, shimmering pedal steel  and minimalist piano motives.

The first strictly ambient solo offering from this incredibly versatile composer and musician reveals a delicate sense for rich, ruminant textures and fine-grained synth buzz dispensing organic highs on tracks like opening movement TO SEE YOU DRIFT, the Polaroid-colored LONG GONE CANADIAN SUMMER, the meditative A CONVERSATION BETWEEN FRIENDS or terraforming blues LATERAL DECOMPOSITION. The iridescent quality of these recordings almost appears to be born out of an auditory illusion - with the arrangements seemingly evolving in time lapse and slow motion at the same time.

The natural, wholesome flow of the album certainly finds itself influenced by Gibson's recent move to a 6000 ft. mountain community called Idyllwild. While two of the tracks on THE EVENING FALLS were started in LA about two years ago, for them and others to get fully realized, he needed to transition away from inner city roaming: "my wife and I heard the calling of the mountains for a while - getting deeper into meditation and nature and a slower way of life. There've been beatless tracks on many of my albums, but this is the first full-scale ambient album I've done... I simply needed to find the right focus." The result is a masterful new addition to our growing series of Pop Ambient full-lengths, presenting the fully-formed vision of a veteran producer who never lost his taste for sonic adventure.

We enlisted some of The Field's favorite producers of today to do the remix treatment to the highlight album closing track "Reflecting Lights". KAITLYN AURELIA SMITH infuses the ambient drift of the original with a brightly colored, heartwarming palette of sounds and voices, former Walls member  / Kompakt alumni, NOT WAVING switches to a more rugged methodology, recalling the distorted lo-fi techno and obscure tape industrial references on his current album "Animals" on Powell's Diagonal imprint.
