Garnets "band" is made up entirely of himself, when recording his custom backing tracks, he is the drummer, the bass player, and the acoustic rhythm guitarist.
On stage he uses these tracks along with his electric guitar and effects pedals to give the audience a "real live band" sound.

Hailing from parts unknown to anyone outside of the greater Riverina region of country NSW Australia, Garnet Hawkins is a "Jack of all trades" and a master of none.

With a preference for punk and old school rock and roll, Garnet draws his inspiration from artists like Green Day, Blink 182, and even as far back as the king himself.
​
Whilst his earlier releases (The Woman Behind The Man, Royally F#@King It Up and 'The Very Special Bogan Christmas Special") where utter failures in regard to technique, skill and all round audio quality, they where nothing more then demos by comparison to his last releases.

Black Dog (2015) marked a whole new era for Garnet and his fans, displaying a level of audio engineering skill, and attention to detail that his previous releases lacked so dearly. 
It also proved once and for all that Garnet could actually take his music seriously.
His latest album entitled "The Phantom Nation" is due for release in early May 2017, and is a "punk rock opera" detailing the struggles of a suburban couple whose lives are tearing apart at the seams.

In terms of his live performances, Garnet stands out as a solo artist in the fact that unlike other solo acts who either buy pre-made backing tracks that sound exactly like the original songs or simply resign themselves to just having a single instrument, Garnet has spent a lot of time in the studio creating his own backing tracks with custom drum,s acoustic guitar and bass lines, giving him a more "real" full band sound while not just sounding like everyone else. 
(Not that he thinks there is anything wrong with buying backing tracks, it is simply not something he wishes to do any more)
