Fortress Of The Rebel Soul (BWR/12) is a guest compilation album inspired by the 'Music To Have A Rebellion' shows which were hosted by Sean M Kilpatrick (n0mad 23), which ran as a special on Loop Radio in 2014. The show featured a few of our label`s own resident artists as well as members from the 'Dub Guild' - the same members we have featured on this album alongside some new guest artists, each bringing their own individual style and flavour. 

Sticking with the 'Music to have a rebellion to' theme, all artists involved created an exclusive track based in and around this concept; music that will make the listener want to rise up and make a stand.. widespread poverty, fascism, political corruption... what better way lift the depression than through the language of Dub and Reggae music. It is such a positive force and a great medium for relaying positive messages.

ZamZam 49 is an absolute stormer from Leeds-based Ryan Wild AKA J.Sparrow.  Well-known to dubstep heads worldwide, it is an absolute pleasure to present this massive reggae sound system stepper.

A pounding kick, majestic horns and the powerful chanting of Iration Steppas’ Dan Man anchor “This A Sound” from the first drumroll.  A masterclass in less-is-more aesthetics, the subsequent layering of nimble hats, cutting snare, subtle guitar and bubbling bass only serve somehow to give the impression of more space, even while ramping up the intensity and power of the tune.

“This A Version” Strips back the horns and voice, opening up reverb-drenched wells of darkness, a primal and mesmerizing space for dancers and meditators alike.  Only a truly accomplished producer can wring so much vibes from so few elements.  With its minimalist grace and elemental power, we guarantee you’ll be reaching for this plate well into the future.

Producing dubstep and bass music since 2006, Wild’s non-stop touring and releases on labels including Tectonic, Black Box and Deep Medi have made him one of the most respected and visible producers in the scene.  A previous collaboration between Dan Man and Wild’s ‘Author' project yielded a mighty tune called "Jah Live” that spawned numerous remixes. Claston Brooks AKA Dan Man is a veteran musician and singer best known for his touring and recording work with Iration Steppas sound system, as well as killer releases on Indica Dubs, Conscious Sounds, Scoops, OBF, and Roots Factory.

Cette nouvelle release du label Homeys Records est née de la première collaboration entre Marina P et le producteur poitevin KSD. Une fois le morceau original achevé, le vocal de "Something New" a été livré à l’inspiration de trois autres producteurs proches de la chanteuse italienne qui ont tous décidé de réinterpréter le morceau à leur manière. Stand High Patrol nous propose une version jazzy du track portée par une rythmique aux influences footwork inattendues. TWM, dont c'est la toute première sortie, présente une version stepper taillée pour les soundsystem. Homeys, quant à lui, mise sur des accents très roots avec une flute traversière qui mène le thème. Les producteurs mobilisés sur le projet ont su proposer une palette de sons éclectiques qui représentent parfaitement l’univers musical de Marina P. L’EP sera dispo le 31 mars sur Homeys Records. Après leur première release, Underground Dubwise sortie en mai 2011, Mahom est de retour avec Dub by Sub, accessible en libre téléchargement chez Original Dub Gathering. Cet opus, résolument stepper, navigue entre dub français et dub UK. Fidèle à ses convictions, il invite à un voyage musical avec pour destination la protection de l’environnement !

Le travail de Mahom est riche des rencontres faites sur la route et quatre des neuf morceaux de la release sont donc naturellement des featurings.

Enrichie d’un mélodica, leur riddim Faso Feu qui fait le tour des soundsystems (Bamba - Daba Makourejah), est remixé dans une version « maison »: FasoDub !

Sur Lettre à la Planète, interlude directement inspirée et adressée à notre Mère Nature, Fedayi Pacha et son duduk donnent au riddim une dimension mystique.

Cyril (Tetra Hydro K) avec lequel ils ont partagé un bout de chemin lors du festival Subsonic en Roumanie, s’est laissé aller avec son mélodica inspiré sur le méditatif Rêve du chat.

Enfin, Mayd Hubb nous fait le plaisir de s’approprier le titre Tu me fais dubber la tête pour un remix explosif !

Cinq escales riches en surprises complètent l’album. Vous plongerez dans l’ambiance sombre de Fukushima. Tu me fais dubber la tête vous entraînera dans une trance enivrante.
