Toy Tonics welcome one of the US’ absolute legends in the game on their roster - Kai Alcé!  One of the original masters of jazzy house, Kai is a prime example of someone who witnessed the genesis of Detroit’s electronic musical landscape and strives to keep that spirit alive. Being of Haitian descent laid the foundation for his musical ear, starting with his childhood in Queens, New York. Some of his earliest musical influences included his mother’s penchant for soca music and the distinct Caribbean rhythms of his culture. An appreciation of Jazz would be further guided by his father’s expanding audiophile home system. During the 1970s the kindling of Hip Hop and the heyday of Disco perked the ear of a young Kai while they were living in NYC. The Big Apple would remain a constant throughout his musical journey as the years went on, but it was the move to Michigan that ultimately shaped his artistic vision.

On this 5 track EP Kai once again makes it all feel so easy! Deeply musical, yet also instantly effective on the dance floor, tracks like ‘New Life Livin’ and ‘Slide It In’ come with an ease that shows why he’s shaped the game for decades.

Six months on from the release of his much-admired Midnight Resource EP on Infinite Pleasure, rising star Blazers makes his bow on ScruScru's similarly fast-rising Scruniversal imprint. The French producer hits the ground running with 'Sea Shore Loop', a gorgeously summery and positive-sounding slab of Italian dream house-influenced deep house pleasure, before reaching for echoing electric piano solos, groovy bass, restless house beats and hazy late-night chords on the equally gorgeous 'Another Midnight Phone Call'. Elsewhere, 'Underneath The Pine' is a jazzy chunk of sample-house smothered in attractive piano parts, while 'Pressure' joins the dots between vintage New Jersey garage and '90s influenced 21st century deep house.

The demo for the title track happened fast. Like, one-day fast. A few days before Gaplife’s launch at Loop51, Aron sat down to make ‘something fun’, no big plan. Just chasing a good feeling. He’d been deep in Italo house that week: bright chords, happy grooves, the kind of stuff that makes you grin without realising it. So he thought, alright, let’s try a “hands-up” track.

And in a single session, “Johnny Walks” came together. Multiple sections, builds, breakdowns, and then in that final stretch…the strings, the lift, the everything-is-right-in-the-world moment. We quickly used it as the backing track for the Loop51 poster because it was exactly that energy: positive, open, communal.

By that point, Aron already had “Night at Hugh” and “Pussy” waiting to be tested. Both were born from the same mindset: keep it simple, keep it moving. He’d been making more melodic, layered tracks and wanted to tap into that pure, four-to-the-floor groove.

“Night At Hugh” samples this old Hugh Hefner interview about fearlessness; it’s weirdly inspiring in context. And “Pussy”... well, that one’s built around a random vocal sample. No extravagant explanation, just one of those happy studio moments that slaps.

Together, these three tracks show Aron in flow mode: no overthinking, just instinct and energy. Melodic but club-ready, euphoric yet grounded. Easy to drop in a set, but also something you’ll catch yourself replaying just for the mood.
