PREMIERE: Reece Johnson - Hooked [Lisztomania]

With a pedigree stretching back to the 90s - when Russia's Gagarin Parties actually saw the then Glasnost-engrossed nation become very early adopters of dance culture - Mike Popov has featured on all manner of labels from Scruniversal and DOBRO to SlothBoogie and Moiss Music.  So you'd imagine he'd know how to handle a decent disco groove, and you'd be right.  In keeping with his astrological name, there are two sides to this release, with 'Make Some Magic' proving a soul-drenched affair despite its looped up architecture, all Chic-style guitar pizazz and orgasmic horns impeccably arranged.  'Feels Like Home' on the flip is even more tremulous and celebratory, an authentic 70s disco vibe subtly fed through the Daft Punk/Roule filters-and-loops mincer.  Dancefloor catnip for sure.

Adesso Music lines up a super-group collaboration for its next release, ‘I Can No Longer Hide’, bringing together the talents of Thomas Schwartz, Fausto Fanizza, Serra 9, and vocalist Jova Radevska on October 24.

A slow-burning, melodic journey, ‘I Can No Longer Hide’ glows with ethereal pads, candle-lit percussion, and dreamlike melodies that lead up to the stars. It’s a blissed-out sound that sees the trio of producers expertly layer Madeconia-born singer-songwriter Jova Radevska’s original vocals amongst a web of intricate beats and synths to make for a stunning track that feels equally suited for sunrise sets or intimate listening sessions.

Long-time collaborators Schwartz and Fanizza – best known as the acclaimed duo Starchaser – bring decades of experience between them and a back catalogue spanning Ministry of Sound, Anjunabeats, and Ego.

Joining them is Pietro Serra, aka Serra 9, who has carved out a name for himself in the melodic house scene with standout releases on Nora En Pure’s Purified Records and Tiësto’s Black Hole Recordings, and garnered more than two million streams.
