The 17th release by the FRI imprint is landed by DJ Dashcam with the EP 'On The Move' a quality-tuned set of 4 tracks well balanced between deep house textures and solid jacking drum lines, pushing the limits of sound even to the techy edge, but with taste, while maintaining classic house elements.
'Don't Stop' and 'Funky Junk resemble classic peak-time-ready house cuts with their foreboding bass, glassy-eyed vocal cuts, deep warm chord rhythms, and snappy beats. The deeper but no less weighty track 'On The Move' holds an interesting dusty texture to the chord stabs in combination with syncopated bouncy bass, creating a polyrhythmic groove. Dashcam showcased his production versatility by unleashing sounds ranging from minimal to ultra-detailed soundcraft with track Model driven by analog bass, which is perfectly glued with drums and percussion elements.
