This vinyl is the result of all the love DJ Sneak has been putting into his music over his 3-decade long legendary career. After producing countless dancefloor hits, the original House Gangsta came very close to stopping the DJ tour life altogether before the lockdown. « I grew tired of it all and experienced a bit of an artistic burn out » he confesses . « I wondered for a while if I was still relevant after all this time, if I still had something to say, if I still wanted to be part of the record labels still pushing vinyl ,I was still eager to make this music and go out to play it loud …».

Vinyls put the passion back into his heart, they revived the desire to create these unique beats that make people dance in clubs everywhere on the planet. «My vinyl collection was in storage and I decided to take it back home. I started playing the records, just for me, just for fun, rediscovering all these tracks I am so fond of, the original House sound that I adore. And it reminded me why I love this music so much, where it all comes from. It’s all in these vinyls ». Vinyl again is the reason why he approached Frappé : « You guys cut vinyls » the first message went… DJ Sneak has such a long and beautiful common history with the parisian scene - from the mid 90s with young folks who would later develop a strong taste for sporting robot masks, to contemporary French artists and labels – that it felt right and easy to put this record together and call it simply the « Chicago House » EP.

This new collaboration on Frappé is a bit like a new start, these 4 tracks keep up the Sneak sound pure, raw and as powerful as it has always been. It’s made to be played out live, at parties in Paris, Chicago and all around the world, on vinyl, and this Frappé release.

We don't know who Your Ex is (lol) but what we do know is that they go beautifully deep here across a pair of jazz-tinged and seductive deep house delights. First up is 'Lima' which opens with swirling pads and steamy sax motifs that drift up top and mean love is in the air as the lush chords melt the soul. On the flip is 'Keep Shining' which is a more dynamic cut with a well-swung groove and the sort of rich piano chords that really hit home. Add in some crisp percussion and more mellifluous sax licks and you have a pair of timeless and truly musical house gems on a vital little 7".

Now Djing at Electrik Disko every fortnight, and throughout the summer we are in the outside courtyard area in The Commercial Bar Wrexham. Nice sound system and great location ..puurfect.
