Our 20th celebration year continues with a very special comeback! It’s exactly ten years now since the last Ben La Desh release on our label, his sublime “Stellar Talk EP” hit big waves and together with the “Midnight Rendez-Vous EP” from 2012 he cemented himself in the lo-fi deep space house scene as an artist to look out for, no one produced deep house like he did back than. After a longer break from releasing music he is back and we think stronger as ever, with analogue gear and well curated sampling and live field recording we present you his “Fine Rise EP”.

Toothpick aka Swirl People step out with their newly entitled label Lost In The Swirls, which they have distilled to the more simple name L.I.T.S. Records. The Belgium-based project is an alias of Dimitri & Raoul and they bring fresh house sounds here even though this is a reissue of some classic 90s material. The title track has lush and bright summer pads over driving, tight kick drums. The opener 'May The Funk Be With You' has a classic UK flavour to it with woodpecker-like hits and dusty drum loops under some smart chord work. Last but not least is 'Naked Speedway' which has a warm bassline meandering below expansive chords that bring an early morning vibe. Good stuff.

O Sótão Records is thrilled to announce the label debut of Lisbon-based producer and DJ, sometimes jah, with the five-track EP, Le Grenier. The story behind the EP is a happy accident of shared musical taste. "I stumbled upon sometimes jah's music online, drawn in by the jazzy elements, lively instrumentation, and sublime sample use," explains Francisco Esp., head of O Sótão Records. "After learning he was based in Lisbon, I reached out on a whim, and to my surprise, João (sometimes jah) was super-open!” Aptly named after O Sótão (Portuguese for "attic" or "grenier" in French), the EP is a trip through textures of deep, jazzy, and groovy house music, twisting and turning at a high pace. The heat outside simmers down, the night falls and you can feel the excitement of another summer season…
