It’s been an interesting couple of years for Clive From Accounts. After being picked up by keen-eared funk wizards Fouk, Clive’s vinyl debut hit the shelves perfectly to coincide with the largest record shop and club closure in living memory. Undeterred and with a fire in his belly he pressed on and released a string of quality EPs on highly respected labels like On The Corner Records ( which made The Guardian’s best tracks of 2020) and Dirt Crew Recordings, leading him on to the second half of 2021 with an EP on Brooklyn’s disco colossus, Razor-N-Tape Reserve.

5 years of hard work in our East London studio, it's time for Burnin Music and his protagonists to celebrate with style.

We decided to contact all the artists that we came across in 5 years, whether they released on the label or not, and asked them for demos!

The quality of stuff we received was so brilliant that we moved from releasing a digital-only compilation to a vinyl record!

We are super pleased to introduce you to 8 tracks by 8 brilliant producers hailing from Tel Avi, Paris, London, Leipzig and Munich.

8 man, 8 definitions of electronic music but 1 common sound, Burnin Music.

To compliment the music we asked Theo Cerri, a talented Italian artist living in Edinburg, to design the cover.

We hope you enjoy the music as much as we had fun to put together that project.

Underground System returns to Razor-N-Tape with the Looking In EP - a 5-track offering of fresh originals and remixes. Ranging from low-slung balearic grooves, to driving left-field funk and urgent uptempo backbeats, the record is a fine-tuning of the US sound, complete with their signature flute and synth soundscapes, driving percussion, and catchy offbeat vocal hooks. On the B-side, RNT mainstays Nenor and Clive From Accounts take two of the tunes into clubbier territory, with a pair of remixes primed for the dance floor.

“Here I created the drums first, using a combination of different breaks and fills to get a richly syncopated rhythm. I used a Rhodes emulation for the chords, to bring on that sense of emotion, and I love the last one in particular. It creates suspension between the rest, making it the charm of the track in my opinion. The vocal comes from the movie New Jersey Drive, and I cut it to match the rhythm section.” - DJ

An exceptional find from Mauritius created by none other than the piano virtuoso, Gérard Cimiotti during the early 1970s. He requires no introduction on the island, having collaborated with and accompanied some of the greatest musicians and artists of his time. Among the select few who ventured into experimenting with the sega genre, he drew inspiration from classical and jazz influences, and even ventured beyond with his electronic keyboard. We find ourselves particularly captivated by "Nuit Tropicale," a tropical night lullaby.

We are truly honoured to add this 45” to our digital re-issue catalogue and represent Gérard’s work.

Was resident DJ at the weekly Blast Club in Chester since summer 1988, Quadrant Park Liverpool 90/91 , Sweet Chester , Elevate Bangor   etc etc  .. Now Djing at Electrik Disko every fortnight, and throughout the summer we are in the outside courtyard area in The Commercial Bar Wrexham. Nice sound system and great location ..puurfect.
