Deep Progressive Dj Mix

A new artist to grace the Particles roster, Michael Ritter makes a very welcome debut with his "Le Chat Bleu" EP. Based in the European capital dance music, Ritter has forged a substantial career from his Berlin home. A regular across the clubs of Barcelona, the German DJ and producer is an accomplished cellist while making a further name for himself with performances behind the decks at Kater Blau and Sisyphos. A host of production credits have seen another side to Ritter's talents as music signed to Nothing But, Mirror Walk and his own Grey Bar Hotel imprint, have demonstrated.

Now making his Particles debut, "Le Chat Bleu" is characterised by a bouncing bass groove and chest-thumping kick, while hard-edged hi-hats provide percussive power. Full of retro synth sounds and modulated chords, a symphony of sound provides a wide stereo image. Evolving into a deep club force in the second half, melodies and bassline combine to create a distinctive palette. "Nuit Des Temp" continues with a powerful percussive groove that creates a its own melodic phrasing as luscious chords add texture and weight. A deep bassline pattern adds to the head-shaking groove in an innovative and distinctive debut.

Ukrainian star, Nōpi, needs little introduction to the Proton cognoscenti. A regular on Proton Music with his "Parallel Words" EP series, other work for the likes of Anjunadeep, meanwhile and When We Dip XYZ, have shone a spotlight on a burgeoning and supremely talented individual. Making his Particles debut the Nōpi remix bristles with trademark melodic sensitivity and emotive phrasing while ambient effects create a dynamic offering. Carefully utilising elements from Michael Ritter's original, a swathe of additional production material has created a full and rich interpretation that reveals an air of melancholy through string passages and breathy vocal risers. The result is a uniquely impressive reworking.

Alex and Andrew have been regulars on the Particles catalogues with their Lanvary pseudonym. A raft of original music has appeared on the likes of 2015's "Micromegas", 2016's "Slingshot Ride" and 2017's "Leviathan", while remixes for Matan Caspi, Kastis Torrau and Donatello have revealed another side to Lanvary's production talent. Also making their way on to Proton Music, courtesy of 2017's "Venus" and 2019's "Everything You Feel", Lanvary now return to Particles with typical flair as their reinterpretation of "Le Chat Bleu" revels in powerful beat and immaculately syncopated bassline groove. An intricate percussive top-line adds further rhythmic prowess as reverb-soaked synth phrases echo the themes inherent in Ritter's original while setting Lanvary's remix on a new path chock full of innovative sonic elements and strong aural architecture. The resultant reworking is a testament to Lanvary's skill and craftsmanship.

Original tracks from Michael Ritter and standout remixes from Nōpi and Lanvary make "Le Chat Bleu" a beautiful four-legged affair.

Hitting the virtual shelves in October 2018, Rauchhaus and his sparkling "Opal" provided another beautiful melodic moment on Proton Music. With a release of its own on Particles, the original is now reprised alongside remixes from Canadian, Dutch and Polish talents.

Paul Hazendonk and Dustin Nantais are hugely respected names within the underground dance scene. Both individually renowned for a wealth of releases on a series of blue-chip imprints, Dutch star, Hazendonk has found himself at the vanguard of dance music for well over a decade from his Rotterdam home. Owner of the globally renowned Manual Music and MNL imprints, a roster that includes, Henry Saiz, Eelke Kleijn and Umek have kept Hazendonk at the epicentre of a world stage. A producer with almost 400 production credits, his own music has found its way onto the likes of Natura Viva, ICONYC, and Black Hole. Similarly, Dustin Nantais finds himself at the forefront of the Toronto DJ scene with performances across his home city. A sparkling production career has seen plethora of high-profile releases hit the likes of Where The Heart Is, Perspectives Digital and Particles, over a 5-year reign at underground music's top table. Joining forces, Hazendonk and Nantais have had a series of high-profile collaborative releases with stops on BluFin, Einmusika and Proton Music as they now make their Particles debut with a typically scintillating remix. Creating a beautifully crafted melodic affair, a strong bassline and ticking percussion provide the foundation for a clever us of Rauschhaus' components to create a track that revels in pulsating pads and sparkling riff. Hitting its stride post-breakdown, a strong combination of groove, melody and vocals provide a striking new interpretation of "Opal".

From Zawiercie in the central-south of the country, Rafa'EL has been creating electronic music for over a decade. With a passion for "deep house, progressive and tribal", the Polish artist has crafted a distinctive style with his popular "Infusion" show on Proton Radio. Simultaneously, an ever-evolving production career has found Rafa'EL with almost a double century of production credits to his name after a debut for Usessions Records in April 2013. Going on to feature heavily for fellow countryman, Tuxedo and his Electronic Tree imprint, Rafael has also been a regular on Sonic Union's Lowbit, Gai Barone's Afterglow and the iconic Balkan Connection. Making his mark on Particles in 2018, the four-track "Twin Flames" saw two original tracks supported by remixes from Izzet and E.F.G. in June, as he now returns to the label. Remixing "Opal", the Rafa'EL interpretation immediately identifies itself with Rauschhaus' original as familiar melodic themes are played out above a strong beat and dancefloor-friendly groove. Building in elegant fashion, new melodic phrases emerge with shimmering motif and reversed phrases making an innovative statement. Driving forwards in the third movement the combination of additional productional material with original components has created a rich and impressive new version.

Remixes from Nantais and Hazendonk and Rafa'EL have kept Rauchhaus and his "Opal" glistening firmly in the spotlight.

Combining a host of established and emerging talents under a seasonal banner, the "Winter Particles 2019" compilation once again showcases the wealth of global talent found in the underground dance arena. Eleven tracks now represent the very best in progressive and melodic house and techno.

Opening the winter selection box, Greek sensation, Savvas, reminds listeners of his attention to detail and melodic prowess through "Mindfulness", while dub.format and Pedro Capelossi and NOIYSE PROJECT hit the ground running with impressive low-end theory as "Mentalist" and "Myth in Manus" combine huge bass prowess with delicate melodic touch.

German star, Wisqo demonstrates why he has been such a hit with the likes of Lump Music and Pipe and Pochet with the elegantly crafted "Limitless" before Kynan Cosma takes a break from his new Sense of Mind moniker to carve out a rasping bass gem and Moog inspired melody in "Sequent" that Bodzin himself would be proud of. Notable for its middle eastern vocal flourishes, E.F.G. then combines a strong rhythmic backdrop and sumptuous chord progressions in "Days and Nights".

Veteran, Rick Pier O'Neil, rarely disappoints and "Shining" is no exception to an ever-growing catalogue of prized jewels, with its dynamic energy, bass prowess and sparkling lead motif keeping the French artist firmly on point. Bosnian, Youngen, immediately impresses with the exquisitely crafted and emotive "Atlantis" that explodes into a chorus of counterpoint motifs.

Argentina's very own Nicholas Van Orton continues his distinctive groove-laden approach to his craft through "Siete Dioses" as haunting melodies and guitar phrasing play a central role in a mesmerising track. Colombian Dabeat departs from fellow countryman and regular collaborator, Kamilo Sanclemente, to shine brightly on a solo outing, "Beyond the Stars", as gated synths and stepped arpeggio present a strong representation of the title and pitched and warped melodies bend space and time. Continuing the outer space theme, Neptun 505 closes the compilation with a shimmering affair that finds a twinkling lead motif illuminating the "Light of a Non-Existent Star" in an iridescent glow, backed by dominant beat, richly textured pads and ticking percussion.

Eleven tracks brightly lit in winter sun gives Particles a crisp, clean edge for its early 2019 collection.

Lucas Rodriguez - Deep Visions (Original Mix) [Droid9]

New to the label, Austin Martin lit up the "Summer Particles 2018" compilation in August last year. Now returning with a full debut EP in the teasingly titled "Space Cake", Austin Dest and Martin Snel provide another moment of melodic vibrancy as the rippling arpeggios and muted motifs of the title track provide the perfect counterweight to a driving rhythm and pulsating bassline. Reprised here, "In the End" reminds listeners of the Dutch duo's production prowess, while a pair of remixes from Australia and Russia take "Space Cake" on a different voyage.

Hailing originally from Tasmania but moving to the bustling Sydney metropolis to immediate success, Zankee Gulati is an artist who provides club audiences with a scintillating bend of sounds that encompass the full gamut of underground dance music – from deep and progressive house to rich melodic techno. Performances alongside an array of bluechip DJs that include Guy J, Robert Babicz and Eelke Kleijn have only enhanced a growing reputation. A nascent production career that began with 2017's "Airborne" on Clinique Recordings has been followed by work for such established imprints as Stellar Fountain and Bonzai Progressive, while May 2018's "Breathe" EP saw an impressive Particles debut with a pair of original tracks combined with remixes from Marcelo Paladini and Beat Maniacs. Now returning, the aptly titled Zankee Gulati "Cosmos" remix reveals a stripped back, atmospheric reworking of "Space Cake". Taking the central melodic themes of the original, Gulati has applied a laidback broken beat foundation that supplies the perfect vehicle for twinkling piano motifs to drift gently across the mid-range. The addition of spoken samples and ambient effects thus creates a delicate moment of magic.

Ewan Rill is a Russian artist who needs little in the way of introduction. A mainstay of the global underground dance scene for nearly a decade, over 1,600 production credits sit proudly next to the Saint Petersburg resident's name, for over 70 different labels. Over 250 of those credits have been welcome contributions to the Balkan Connection family of labels while further work for the likes of Spring Tube, Stellar Fountain and Suffused Music continue to find Rill a sought-after producer in a demanding and constantly-evolving industry. A debutant with LoQuai as part of the "Winter Particles 2015" compilation, "Beat Meditation" went on to receive a full release with remixes from Artem Kalalb and Cream and Deep Fog. A remix of Pete K's "Perseu" saw a return to the label in September 2017 as Ewan Rill now remixes "Space Cake" with suitable aplomb. A driving beat heralds the familiar refrains from the Austin Martin original as a reverb-laden percussive groove, full of hi-hat urgency, provides a strong foundation for a chorus of additional production material to hit new heights. A running bassline adds dancefloor urgency as new melodic motifs and chord progression add a touch of class.

Remixes from Zankee Gulati and Ewan Rill have kept Austin Martin flying high with all the "Space Cake" they can eat.

Renowned for releasing a wealth of stunning original music, "Fall Particles 2019" continues the seasonal compilation series with seven new tracks from new and iconic artists alike.

Proton progenitor and a producer of legendary status, Biologik opens proceedings with "Lore". Beautifully sculpted from a host of modular equipment, a strong beat and gently pulsating sustained chords provide an elegant backdrop. A smooth lead-line then meanders across proceedings, building in power and detail to create a glorious opener. Iconic Greek artist, Kosmas, continues with "Under Control" using an intricate percussive groove as a framework for a rich, sustained bassline to play a substantial role. Effected vocal cuts add intrigue while a sublimely melodic motif ping-pongs across the stereo spectrum in delayed fashion while the bassline filter opens up in rasping side-chained glory to create a dancefloor destroyer.

A Sri Lankan and French partnership sees NOIYSE PROJECT and Cmb CruZz present "Naymaria" with pounding beat and rolling percussive rhythm. Textured pads add depth with intelligent chord progressions and ethnic vocal cuts revealing a world music flavour while melodic phases supply further dynamism as they develop into the third movement. Hitting the heights with "Sirius", Kostya Outta displays a mature production character. Hypnotic rhythms and offbeat percussion play alongside reverberated bass groove and pulsing pads sit tightly against a swathe of melodic elements. Full of dancefloor prowess, the Belarusian is a force to be reckoned with.

Striding out in solo guise, rising Brazilian artist, Dante Pippi hits hard with "Unruh". Immediately showcasing a club-friendly beat and epic bass groove, shaker led percussion adds dynamic flair. Evolving seamlessly, shimmering melodic motifs make their play as the track hits its stride post-breakdown in a powerful and dramatic offering. Argentinean, Julian Nates, continues the South American theme with the aptly titled, "Luminism". A hypnotic rhythmic framework forms the basis for a multi-layered glissando bassline to slide elegantly across the low and mid-range. A filtered arpeggio, muted in the early stages, then enters the fray through the breakdown and into the second half, reaching a rousing crescendo through judiciously placed snare rolls and white noise risers.

Debuting on Particles with the March 2019 "Border" EP, Hansgod closes with the immaculately crafted "Patchouli". A chest-thumping kick combines with metronomic techno hats while an intricately programmed arpeggio starts out as a muted percussive layer before opening up into rich melodic patterns that develop through extended delays and open filter. A pulsing pad adds further dancefloor character in the second half to intelligent effect.

Seven new tracks create a vivid palette of autumnal sonic colour in "Fall Particles 2019".

Emerging from the rich seam of Polish underground dance talent, Rafa'EL returns to Particles with "Floating Moments". Remixes come from iconic Latvian and Australian artists.

Over a decade spent "developing and polishing his musical sense" has seen Rafael Ligienza carve out a sizeable niche with his Rafa'EL moniker. A renowned DJ showcased via his monthly "Infusion" show on Proton Radio, the Polish artist can boast over a double century of production credits to his name for some of the finest modern imprints including: Afterglow, ICONYC and Balkan Connection. A debut on Particles in August 2015 saw a collaboration with fellow countryman, Tuxedo, before his "Twin Flames" EP hit the stores in June 2018. Returning with a brand-new original track, "Floating Moments" is chock-full of percussive energy and subterranean bass prowess. Developing elegantly, melodic motifs drift subtly in and out of tune, reaching their pinnacle at the stripped back breakdown. Hitting its stride again in the second half, rhythm, bassline and melody combine to mesmerising effect.

Latvian duo, Blood Groove and Kikis, need little introduction to the Particles faithful. Able to point to over 500 production credits across a plethora of high-profile labels, the pair have been regulars on the likes of Spring Tube and Silk Music. Indeed, the latter saw the release of a notable highlight in 2014's "Wonderland" album. Finding their way onto Particles in 2015, Blood Groove and Kikis have showcased their remix skills in abundance, further enhanced with a typically impressive reworking of "Floating Moments". Taking melodic elements from the original, the duo have crafted a swathe of new phrases and additional production material that takes Rafa'EL's work in intriguing new directions. Encased in a crisp rhythmic shell, the remix wax and wanes in effortless fashion building into a sonic extravaganza in the second half that cleverly captures world music flavours.

An artist with renowned DJ credentials that have seen him perform across his native Australia while also bringing some of the dance industry's biggest names to his Queensland home, Rich Curtis continues to operate at the vanguard of the underground. An accomplished musician, Curtis has seen his production work hit the catalogues of such celebrated imprints as Replug, Sudbeat and John 00 Fleming's JOOF. Remixes for Particles have seen Curtis rework the likes of Kobana, Huminal and Matter as he now returns to remix Rafa'EL. Immediately hitting hard with strong beat, off-beat percussive cadence and a rich glissando bassline framework, shimmering melodic motifs that resonate with the "Floating Moments" original pan across the left-right spectrum in dizzying fashion. A swathe of additional production material from the Rich Curtis arsenal makes its presence felt, especially in a wonderfully emotive breakdown, as the second half picks up the pace once more with new sequences and driving rhythmic force.

Anchored in strong remixes from Blood Groove and Kikis and Rich Curtis, Rafa'EL has "Floating Moments" to remember.

Eros, is the 7th EP of Various Artist from Droid9 South America, it includes 3 original mixes of pure Progressive House made by great artists. Among them are Argentine producers such as Konte, Andres Moris, Colou Befu and Ignacio Berardi.

Voice of experience, is the first track on this EP, made by Konte. In this track you can appreciate an ambient and dark sound, along with a very well achieved base, accompanied by a deep house sound to some extent. This creation keeps us in tune all the time, it is an ideal track for any time of the night, either at the end of a warm up or to generate a calmer atmosphere in an extensive set.

Into the light, is the second track, made by Andres Moris. This track obtained the support of Guy J (Echos 11/13/2020), in it we can notice in this creation a fine mixture in the Progressive House style, you can see solid drums accompanied by a powerful bassline, which when combined With the melody it begins to take us on a one-way trip to another dimension. Everything that seemed heavenly turns dark, minimal-style sounds begin to enter our ears which keeps the crowd to keep moving. It is an ideal track for any type of environment , in which listeners will go through different states of mind when being heard.

Sayonara, third track compiled by Colou Befu and Ignacio Berardi. You can see in this creation, a mix between an aggressive yet hypnotic and enveloping sound that progressively mutates and takes us on a journey from beginning to end. The combination of drums, melody and bass makes it sustain a good groove for the dance floor, which holds us to the floor and keeps us in constant motion. Undoubtedly this track can be used to exploit the night on any given dancefloor

Andrés Moris - Into The Light [Droid9 South America]

Born in Rosario in the province of Santa Fe, Lucas Degiorgi has been involved in the underground dance scene for over a decade. With music signed to such esteemed imprints as One Of A Kind, Balkan Connection and Mistique Music, it is a pleasure to welcome the Argentinean to Particles. Maintaining a rich percussive narrative that flows through the quartet of original tracks with its roots in South American rhythms, "Charger" builds with ease via heavy bassline groove, powerful synth motifs and syncopated patterns. Textured pads, reverb-rich vocals and white-noise effects add to the potent aural collage. Accompanied by heavy beat and evocative breakdown, sparkling delayed synths permeate "Meteoro" in moving patterns, while subtle melodic layers add intrigue aplenty. The ambient effects and birdsong of "Iguazú" trip alongside free-flowing jazz phrases and layered vocal phrasing to create a unique affair. A 4/4 kick, off-beat percussion and recurring synth trope provide familiar club-friendly rhythms in a highly original piece. "Midnight" returns to more traditional progressive house fare as dominant beat and off-beat hats and shakers lay the foundation of flowing pads and repeated motifs create an atmosphere that lends itself well to the title. Subtle additions post-breakdown add further to the eerie vibe and overall track evolution.

No stranger to the Particles roster, Blood Groove & Kikis bid a welcome return to the label. Regulars on Silk Music, Spring Tube and Perplexity Music, a 2015 debut remixing Australian star, GMJ, began an impressive Particles portfolio. Further reworkings of Andre Sobota, East Café and Matt Rowan & Robbie Lowe in mid-2020 has continued an impressive collection as the Latvian duo now return to Particles with a stellar reworking of "Charger". Full of trademark silky smooth production skills, a strong beat and sublime rolling groove form the backbone for a chugging, head-shaking remix to drive forward with heavy bass pattern in tow. Richly textured pads add to the sonic collage as echoes of Degiorgi's original ripple across the mid-range. A swathe of original production from the Latvian pair can be heard throughout as the track reaches new and dynamic intensity in the second half.

2020 newcomers to the underground production scene, Peruvian and Mexican duo, Stranger Tourists, have made quite an impression with their distinctive organic and deep house sound. With a lofty ambition to "tell stories and express emotions through music", the pair have hit the ground running after their "Call of the Ancients EP" for Mirrors Label in January. Going on to see their work featured for the likes of RYNTH, Suprematic and The Purr, Stranger Tourists make their Particles debut with an imaginative reworking of "Charger" that captures the organic house vibe of the original with its ambient birdsong while adding an array of new melodic production material that gives their remix a melancholic air. Full of rhythmic charm with driving beat, reverb-soaked vocal phrasing and acoustic guitar add further weight to an opulent remix.

Lucas Degiorgi has provided an impressive debut "Journey" with a quartet of originals and remixes from Blood Groove & Kikis and Stranger Tourists.
