For more than 22 years, Josh Sedivy—better known as Narcosis—has consistently defined and refined his craft, always seeking unique sounds that both surprise and deeply engage the dance floor. His sets are often built in the moment, with an emphasis on connection, allowing the story to evolve with the energy of each dancer. The result is a one-of-a-kind journey created together.

Narcosis’ DJ career began with Technics 1200s and vinyl, specializing in nu-skool and tech-influenced breakbeats. In 2004, he co-founded Fractured Breaks, a UK-based weekly internet radio show that featured live mixes from Narcosis, his partner, and headliners from across the U.S. and UK. Between 2004–2007, Fractured Breaks attracted thousands of listeners weekly and built an international following. Around the same time, Narcosis co-founded a St. Louis residency where he shared the decks with breakbeat heavyweights like The Stanton Warriors, Adam Freeland, and Dylan Rhymes, while also building the Fractured Crew that would go on to host and play parties for more than a decade.

By 2007, his sound began shifting toward house music, especially tech house, deep house, and minimal. This evolution led to the creation of the Badassness parties at St. Louis’ legendary Upstairs Lounge. Over the course of six years, Narcosis played alongside personal heroes including Justin Martin, Christian Martin, Worthy, Tanner Ross, Matt Rissi, and Butane, helping to define a new era of underground nightlife in the city.

Beyond residencies, Narcosis became a sought-after booking for both local and national stages. He played three times at Miami’s Winter Music Conference, appeared in Chicago, Orlando, and St. Pete, and frequently opened for major touring acts in St. Louis. Along the way, he warmed up crowds for Deadmau5, Bassnectar, Josh Wink, Timo Maas, Matthew Dear, Claude VonStroke, and more, while also performing at classic Midwest raves like Booty Halloween, Winter Warpdrive, and Psychotronic.

In 2014, Josh left St. Louis to travel through Europe, Asia, and Central America. These experiences broadened his sonic palette and inspired his next project: Soundtracks for Living (SFL), a weekly podcast blending neo-classical, jazz, soul, trip-hop, ambient, and more. SFL quickly gained traction on Mixcloud, landing Top 5 rankings weekly in downtempo, ambient, and trip-hop categories. The project also led to Pop-Up Radio on St. Louis’ KDHX and a residency at a local jazz bar, showcasing his ability to move beyond the dance floor into wider musical storytelling.

During SFL, Josh collaborated with many local DJs who contributed guest mixes, including Tony Bove of Napalm Productions. From this connection, a new project was born: Romance & Romance (R&R), a duo featuring Narcosis and T/LEC, with an all-encompassing sound that blends deep house, techno, progressive, and afro-house. Although their first appearance dates back to 2012, R&R gained momentum post-COVID with high-profile shows including Angad Hotel rooftop parties, the Covert Culture series, and opening slots for Justin Martin, Ardalan, and Catz & Dogz.

Through it all, Narcosis has remained committed to creating music that connects, surprises, and transforms the moment—seamlessly blending deep house and techno grooves with cinematic soundscapes. His journey continues to be one of evolution, collaboration, and shared experience.
