This song was so much fun to make! In addition to it's supreme goofiness, it holds quite a depth of meaning for me.

It's about embracing life's inevitable struggles, pains, confusions, frustrations, and depressions as a part of being alive, and not running from them or feeling afraid or ashamed of them. This is part of who we are - there is no happiness in running from ourselves. We cannot be at peace while we are afraid of our own depths. 

It's about releasing and liberating ourselves from the pressures of being the person that we think other people want us to be, and instead being who we are, following our hearts, and blossoming as the uniquely beautiful flower that each and every one of us is.

It's about relinquishing the desire to fix and change others, and learning to accept them as they are, even if we don't understand it.

It's about enjoying the simplicity and playfulness of life. Letting go and being content and grateful with what we have, and who we are in any given moment. Sitting in a funk and feeling our way through it, not distracting ourselves from what we are feeling.

Your Funk isn't a bad word - if You're in a Funk - Embrace the Funk - Live the Funk - Breathe the Funk - Become the Funk - LOVE THE FUNK!!!

Sing with the Struggles, Dance with the Depressions, Paint with the Pains! YOU ARE ALIVE - You are ALOVE - and You are worthy of Your place on this earth.

Know that it's okay to feel the things that You feel.
