There is something that is rarely talked about in the business world and I want to start building more attention for it.

That thing is self-awareness.

I’m upset that the narrative these days is that everyone needs to be number one, own a company, be in charge. A lot of people are going to lose that way.

Self-awareness allows people to recognize what things they do best so they can then go hard on those aspects of their life. It also helps you accept your weaknesses.

What works for one person doesn’t work for everyone. I want people to learn to be at peace with themselves, to understand what they can offer, because everyone’s got something. The key, however, is learning how to find it.

Self-awareness can help you do that.

Self-awareness is being able to accept your weaknesses while focusing all of your attention on your strengths.

The moment you decide to accept your shortcomings and bet entirely on your strengths, things will change. Trust me.

This is what it’s all about. Whether you’re growing a brand or starting a new company, there’s only one thing in your absolute control: WORK. Practice it. Preach it. Do whatever you gotta do because it’s the single most important thing in moving forward. Sleep has nothing to do with it. Sleep as much as you can as long as you're maximizing the hours that you're awake. There’s no success without sucking it up, putting in the time and pushing yourself harder to get where you want to be. Get hyped, and get ready to make it happen !! You're in full control.

Everyone that’s trying to decide whether to give the power to their sales or their marketing teams need to stop and give this one a listen. No matter how hard you try, or which side you’re bias to, you need both of these teams in your org. Marketing folks take flak for spending a lot with a few large successes, and the sales teams working lots of things on a lower level. Stop hating Jim in marketing or Julie in sales. Listen up and figure out how to combine the two and build a more successful org. ENJOY!

You need to break out of it and start making things happen.
