Про свій мікс він каже: «У ньому я задокументував свою рефлексію. Тож вийшов досить драматичний мікс: десь я відчуваю пошук, дослідження (як спочатку), потім перешкоди, через які треба пройти, далі здається, що все вдається, потім настає відчуття тривоги, навіть страх;, а наприкінці основна емоція — надія. Все як у житті. Я взагалі завжди намагаюся будувати композицію так, щоб сюжетна лінія тягнулася від початку до кінця, і щоб музика мене чомусь навчила: десь вона дає мені змогу розслабитися на кілька хвилин, а десь мене за щось карає».

A new episode of DTF Magazine, this time with Kyiv-based multi-genre DJ and producer Eazy. Here's what he says about the mix: ‘I documented my reflections in it. So a rather dramatic mix turned out: somewhere I feel a search, an exploration (as at the beginning), then obstacles that have to be overcome, later everything seems to work out following a feeling of anxiety, even fear, and at the end, the primary emotion is hope. Everything is like life. I’m always trying to compose a track in a way the storyline stretches from the very beginning to the end, and the music itself could teach me something: somewhere it allows me to relax for a few minutes, and somewhere it punishes me for something’

A new set from the ‘Before The Curfew’ series is up on SoundCloud. This set was played by Kadiristy on the 23rd of July at Backyard. 

Kadiristy is a Kyiv-based dj and producer, Gasolin Radio resident and one of the founders of the Regular Disco formation and event series focusing on uplifting music in disco, italo and house directions.

The series is updated on a weekly basis with recordings of sets that have been played in our space since the beginning of the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Tune in and don't forget to support the Ukrainian army, volunteer organizations and funds, including the ∄ community fund which continues to support volunteer initiatives from representatives of our community.

BEFORE THE CURFEW ⑫ KADIRISTY

"I wrote this live programme for Gasoline Radio's 1 year anniversary. Before I started writing the live programme, I realised that I was getting bored with the classic 808 and 909 dance drums. So I decided not to limit myself in my passion for combining unusual sounds and rhythms. The sounds of the 80s, acid and synth wave are intertwined here. In fact, this is my reflection. In this mix, I returned to the genres with which I started my research into electronic music. The result is experimental dance music. It's a kind of musical performance, where the main characters are synthesizers that seem to be singing and creating a new space for your fantasies".

«Цю лайв-програму я написав для вечірки, що була присвячена святкування річниці Gasoline Radio. Я вирішив не обмежувати себе в пристрасті до поєднання незвичних звуків та ритмів. Тут переплелось звучання 80-х, acid та synth-wave. Це моя рефлексія, у лайві я повернувся до жанрів з яких розпочинав свої дослідження електронної музики. В результат чогоі вийшла експериментальна танцювальна музика. Це свого роду музичний перформанс, де головні герої — синтезатори, що ніби переспівуються та створюють новий простір для ваших фантазій».

Ponura mixes the second volume of NADA’s three-part mini-mix series entitled ‘Without Weapons’; taken from, and inspired by the imagery of, a chapter title from the 1998 work of British-Ghanaian writer, theorist and filmmaker Kodwo Eshun (1998, More Brilliant than the Sun: Adventures in Sonic Fiction).

A special thank you to the artists who gave permission for their music to appear in this mix; a tangled experimentation from Kyiv. A mature left-field sound without a hint of predictability. Full appreciation requires complete attention.

The mix is commemorated by an edition of 50 cassette mixtapes featuring the artwork of Ukrainian painter, Alexander Bogomazov (1916, Fire in Kyiv [charcoal on paper]).
