This mix became the last outdoor set of the warm season at the Kyiv venue — Brukxt.
And for me, it symbolically defines the ending of an excessively long life period and this vivid feeling of multi-layered relief that I've been getting used to over the past couple of months.
The selection, as always, features a mix of ambient, dub, broken beats, and instrumental passages. However, compared to previous ones, it stands out with noticeably better harmony— and the fact that this time, I genuinely like it.

Before the Curfew is a series of music podcasts that emerged in 2022 after the reopening of the club following the liberation of the Kyiv region. All recordings presented in this series take place before midnight before the curfew begins. Before the Curfew offers a vibrant snapshot of the Ukrainian music scene amidst challenging times, celebrating resilience, creativity, and unity through music.

We asked Valeria Obodzinska, AKA Veryval, to explore the audio associations evoked by the magical word “wave,” and we came to an interesting conclusion — our perceptions differ.
Instead of the slow and soft rhythms we had imagined, she crafted a set that is quite vibrant and rhythmic. It features Ukrainian funk from the recent compilation Even the Forest Hums, bluesy melancholic ballads from the ’90s, drum and bass, and even some breakbeat.
The result is a mix that is both chaotic and harmonious, eclectic yet inspiring—one that is definitely waiting for your listening.
