We are happy to release our label's anniversary compilation called X. A label showcase and an inside peek at our musical DNA, with art for this occasion by the virtuoso Rosenfeldtown.

When we, Emiel and Daksinamurti decided to start the label we wouldn't have dreamed of how it turned out. Now after almost 12 years of running the label we are still amazed by the amount of creativity this psychedelic scene has to offer. A lot of art and music still inspire us, and we are happy to have contributed to the psychedelic culture with what we do. Our mission statement hasn't changed since the day we started – to release psychedelic music away from stereotypes and stubborn boundaries.

This track I have dedicated to my favorite band from childhood, "Yello" - Great guys from Switzerland. They write fantastic music and even in 1980, their music had a tremendous quality of electronic music. This track is a Remix not for one  song, and it contains a lot of songs of their creativity.

9.Pantomiman - Yello Blast

Jungle Calling is a compilation made by Djs Govinda & Mikel and inspired by the wild jungle gathering we have been putting up in Goa since few years now. After more then 10 years of experience taking active part in festivals like Boom, Ozora, Sonica, Modem, Blackmoon and others we finally decided to open a record label and release music from our favourite artists selecting tracks from the most known ones like Ajja, Drip Drop, Gaspard and Dsompa. but also some emergent ones like Brain jam, Overload and Dimmitrion to give voice to great new artists that haven't been discovered by the audience yet. The type of sounds that we have been selecting is a mixture of organic feelings, groovy baselines and crunchy leads aiming to take you into a powerful hypnotic experience. The dance floor has been our biggest passion for many years, that's why our hope is that these tunes will bring you into a new dimension like it did to us in the last parties... This Being the first release of Samaa Records, hence, it is named 'Earthstrong' which is a term closely tied to Rasta culture and a term for a birthday. 'Earthstrong' pronounced 'urt-strang' focuses on the principles of empowerment through words and sounds. While the word 'birthday' is literal, referring to the day of your birth, 'Earthstrong' alludes to the concept of cultivating a stronger connection with the earth each passing year, where earth means the international community.

SoundFanatic - Why Emily?

Gaspard is a swiss based artist. His musical journey started with punk and metal, both of which remain predominant forces in his life. He first stumbled upon electronic music back in the early ‘90s, when Eat Static blew his mind at the Paradiso, Amsterdam. From that moment the “psy switch” was flicked on and there was no looking back! He started djing in 1996, and the rest is well...history.. In 2003, Peak Records was born, co-founded by Gaspard and friends Ajja S.F.Leu, Tanina Munchkina and Master Margherita. Gaspard compiled 7 of the label’s 9 Psy Trance compilations, in what has been described as ‘Swiss anti-cheese psychedelic style’! In 2004 Ajja and Gaspard teamed up to form YabYum. Their first album “Nocturnal Emissions” (2006) is still a favourite with many-a freak to this day. Their tracks are in constant demand with releases on international labels across the globe. The duo have recently revitalized the project and are set to build on their already sterling reputation. A long-awaited ep should appear on Sangoma Records in 2018-19. In 2010, after a brief break from the music scene, Gaspard turned his attention to the solo project. His debut EP, « Abra Kada Bom » was released in 2013 on Subsystem Records. The feedback has been overwhelming with a style best described as “hectic psytrance with a sense of humour.” His first solo album "Seems Legit" saw the light in May 2014, on Sangoma Records. 2018 has already been fruitful for Gaspard, with a second EP (Crepuscular Blaterations, Sangoma Records) and the birth of Fralien Eequencies, a collaborative project with Flooting Grooves. This latest venture is the result of a long running friendship with Pierce FG and is set for a debut performance and EP release courtesy of the mighty Sonica Festival. A committed family man, dedicated producer, and all-round psychedelic character: Gaspard has plenty to keep himself busy with over the coming decades!
