Ich durfte letztes Wochenende direkt zwei Mal spielen. 
Auf beide Termine habe ich mich wirklich schon lange gefreut und es war wirklich ein fantastischer Abschluss für die Festivalsaison. 
Ich bin auf dem N oi Suff Festival ein wenig verspielter eingestiegen, weil ich den grandiosen Discosound von davor mit in den Sonnenuntergang genommen habe. 
Es gab mal wieder ein paar Probleme mit der Aufnahme von Samstag, aber ich habe noch einmal ein bisschen gepuzzelt. 

Also in dem Sinne: Viel Spaß!

Noi Suff Festival 2021

Every time I play in a club or a party, I challenge myself to experiment with different electronic music styles. To keep it interesting and fun for the dancefloor and me, I like to think of my sets as musical journeys and so I never set my playlists in advance. Every DJ has their style. For me, I always go with the flow and select tracks based on the dancefloor's vibe or wherever I wish to take the party. While this is the adrenaline rush I chase (and love), the pressure of what to play next, in the time pressure also sometimes leads to unsuitable track selections and mixing errors - and this is what you might hear in this mix. I was not optimistic about putting this set on Soundcloud; however, I chose against it and embrace the mistakes as "lessons". Here I am presenting you a DJ set in all its natural form, with what some may call 'odd track selections' and some 'mixing errors'; I hope you can overlook them and enjoy this mix nonetheless. 🗯🗯 Verwendest du neue Technologie oder bist du eher klassisch unterwegs? 🗯🗯

Ich habe 2007 ganz klassisch mit TTs angefangen, mich dann eine Zeitlang mit CD-Mappen rumgeschlagen (auf denen ich meine eigene Schrift nicht lesen konnte). Inzwischen bin ich dankbar für USB-Sticks und ein Minimal-Setup. I travel light.

🗯🗯 Was vermisst du seit März 2020 ganz besonders? 🗯🗯

Die Musik war ja nie weg. Aber egal wie lange oder laut du zu Hause oder auf Kopfhörern drehst, du hast nicht das Gefühl wie im Club oder Open Air, dass der Sound dich durchdringt und umgibt. Und natürlich die Menschen – in ganze Gesichter schauen, Emotionen sehen und mitfühlen.

🗯🗯 Hast du in der letzten Zeit etwas Neues gelernt? Neues Wissen, andere Inputs, neue Themen? 🗯🗯

Ich liebe es, Neues zu lernen. 2020 habe ich meine Yin-Yoga-Teaching-Skills vertieft, 2021 habe ich mich in Scrum und agilen Methoden weitergebildet. Mein Mann hat mir einen E-Bass geschenkt, aber ich übe nicht so gewissenhaft wie er Gitarre, leider. So werden wir natürlich keine Band ;)

Multi-talented artist Ruede Hagelstein has been a go-to when it comes to electronic music in and from Berlin. Starting his DJ-career in the late 90s at infamous nightlife club Tresor, the Berliner earned a residency spot at Watergate Club in the mid noughties. Still Ruede's skills and talents are so manifold that he's always thought outside the box, namely he was an editor at various magazines like Groove, earned an Audio Engineer Degree at the SAE Institute and, since he had been dreaming of a rockstar career and to show a different facet of his musical being, became part of Indie-Electronica band 'Ruede Hagelstein & The Noblettes'. On top of all the aforementioned the musician founded his own mixing studio and label, DUAT Records, too. With as many possibilities to choose from one thing's for sure, whenever you hear from Ruede Hagelstein, you'll not be confronted with the ordinary but with something profound, something that withstands time and you can return to as you can witness his musical skills regularly in a club, on a record or on a track coming out of his mixing studio. And speaking of records, the Berliner's list of artists he's worked with is almost as long as his career. A good few months back he was part of WhoMadeWho's Watergate 26 compilation and even contributed two tracks to it, one with the Copenhagen-band itself and one in collaboration with Just Evans. Last year Hagelstein remixed Irish duo Between Ourselves and their track 'Red Mist' on André Lodemann's label Best Works, which was a constant dance floor weapon in the sets of Dixon or Âme. For his art:cast, the 70th edition of the series, can be characterized as a musical approach to capture the beauty of a late fall cuddling with winter or Atelier meeting Underworld with a touch of Ruede in-between.
