Surprisingly, we still have plenty of winter thrushes still around, in April! and still no Swallows seen, despite the fact that we had one of the hottest Marches on record, no doubt followed by -5 at the start of April.. so they clearly new the cold snap wasn't over yet. 

Nice to hear them singing away, but mostly still subsong as apposed to their territorial breeding song, which they have no purpose to really sing just yet as they are not on territory.
