There are days when it can be a challenge to create something new, and it is at times like this when a simple tune will suffice.  Hopefully, this melody will then spark another idea and grow into something else.  And so the process continues.  Regular listeners will know that this project is all about evolving ideas. Obviously, this is a question for those who have heard some of the other tracks but guessing is allowed 😀.  Do you think that Bruce Forsyth would have described this as a good game?

What if transparency provides so much information that a veil of complexity is created, and confusion ensues?  In the Information Age, discernment is a core skill.  However, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the sheer size of the ever-growing mountain of data.  AI could be a solution, but only if the programmer can be trusted.  What do you think?

Yesterday, I attended an excellent event run by the ISM (Independent Society of Musicians).  As well as some great performances there was a discussion about the impact of ‘Big Tech’ and AI on the future of music and the music industry, a subject largely ignored by the main stream media!  I met some lovely people and came away with the impression that we musicians are bastions of humanity.  What do you think?

There are occasions when it appears that time itself has stood still.  I have found that this happens when I am engrossed in something so fascinating that the moment is more important than the context.  The maxim that change is the only constant comes to mind and I am reminded that we are constantly in a state of transition.  We must learn from the past, not yearn for it!  What do you think? 🤔

If these #MusicalMinutes were ciphers, what would they be alluding to?  I quite like the idea that the music reflects what is going on, expressed from a personal perspective — like a diary.  Today’s track marks the 4500th day since I started posting at the beginning of 2013.  A lot has happened in that time!  What do you think?

With these #MusicalMinutes, it is customary, at this stage of the month, to reflect on the journey, to see what progress has been made.  I often listen to the first track of the month to see what elements are still present, and to hear how they have developed.  Isn’t that what evolution is all about?  Imperceptible at the micro level and unrecognisable the macro level.  What do you think?

Today’s #MusicalMinute could be described as a summary of April.  It contains snippets of ideas including ambient soundscapes, Pareto’s law, a game of chance, global dialogues and dinner conversations.  It also sees the introduction of the Kora and the reintroduction of surround sound.  It’s quite a smorgasbord of frequencies!  What do you think?

A new month begins with an empty template.  Normally, creating these tracks is primarily a creative challenge, however, this morning there was a glitch with the technology!
