Sometimes, when we try to spark a creative process, we ignore our right hemispheres's messages, and that's why we often end up missing the creative part in the process. When making music, I just let go of the idea whats holding me back of using an audio sample or a loop. I just listen, if it sounds good I’m using it, one way or another.  This is exactly how this remix was made.

We started working on this song almost two years ago, just before our remixes for What So Not and Petit Biscuit came out. When they released, we didn’t know what to expect. We were humbled by all of the support straight away and knew we wanted to write originals that are deeply meaningful to us. It has taken longer than we first thought, and we’ve often found ourselves lost in a never-ending circle. We saw our friendship move towards a dark place as a result of working together on the originals - we were arguing and everybody was stressed out. For a lot of this past summer, we were divided amongst ourselves and unsure if there would ever be any finished music to show. In August, we all went to a house far in the south of France - we were able to bring our friendship back to where it used to be, and ‘Endless’ was finally born.

October 12th will see the latest single from the multi-faceted Ruben Pol get a release. Co-produced by the UK’s Tom Martin (who counts David Guetta, Stargate and Tiesto as previous collaborators),  ‘Meet Again’ is a softly undulating electronic cut that comes straight from the heart. 

The 21-year-old Dutch model and musician is following up his debut release ‘Bed Sheets,’ which has almost a quarter of a million streams and counting and landed at Number 4 in the Apple Music Electronic Chart. Having walked a spread of high-profile campaigns since 2015 as an international artist, for the likes of Versace, Dior, Gucci & Burberry, L’Officiel Magazine chose Ruben Pol as one of their ‘Hommes To Watch’ in both his careers. 

‘Meet Again’ moves with meaningful flow; Pol’s brooding tones ripple over the surface of smooth chord transitions and a lightly sweeping electronic beat. 

The young talent says of this single: "’Meet Again’ is about a broken relationship and it reflects on the enormous value it still has to me.

LYZZA - IMPOSTER 

Over the past several years, London based artist LYZZA has emerged as a singular voice at the intersection of on-the-cusp club music and incisive songwriting. IMPOSTER is her second release, offering an expansive follow-up to 2017’s Powerplay and a furthering of the vision heard in radio/DJ sets for the likes of NTS Radio and Boiler Room. IMPOSTER is centered on an externalization of LYZZA’s internal struggle, a determined fight to claim a place at the table with the knowledge that the system is not intended for her. The sound is dark and anxiety-ridden, but powerful, riven with forceful rhythms and a variety of seductive vocal techniques.

LYZZA’s performance begins with two breathy, mood setting tracks in “Get What U Got” and “2BORNT2B”, immediately establishing the lilting rhythms and melodic bass lines that run through the EP’s entirety. The energy dial is soon ramped up as “Sleeve” and “Girls R Us” feature LYZZA in full diva mode, sing-rapping over frenzied productions, while “Fraud”, her first official production-only track, finishes off the release with a disarmingly gorgeous hardcore flourish.

The contradictions in “Fraud” exemplify LYZZA’s approach throughout IMPOSTER, balancing brusque dancefloor propulsion against elaborate, emotionally cutting vocal performances. Those contradictions are also thematically born out as LYZZA’s interior narrative is born out in wide screen clarity. The spotlight is on LYZZA this time, but the defiant spirit embodied throughout IMPOSTER is universal.
