GAZ:elle is a DJ based in Berne City, but her spirit wanders nimbly in zigzags across the vast land. Her first contact with DJing was in the late ‘90s in New Zealand’s underground scene, where she lived for quite a while. Back in Switzerland, she formed a women’s DJ collective, where her sets ranged from old-school rap to Nu Jazz and 2 Step/UK Garage. Yet, her heart has always beaten for Jungle and Drum’n’Bass, genres in which she was raised. It took years before GAZ:elle fully dedicated herself to these styles as a DJ. Today, she explores the diverse world of bass-heavy music, navigating between Jungle, Drum’n’Bass, and UK Garage/2 Step, still heavily influenced by Neo Soul, Rap, and Jazz. Her selection is characterized by deep basses, melody, atmospheric density, playful creativity, and a certain melancholy. The music of GAZ:elle resembles the evening sky over the vast land: sometimes surreal in color, then again powerful and raw, always imbued with a mild longing that energetically descends upon the land.

True to her nature, GAZ:elle never liked to be the center of attention, which ultimately made her step back from DJing. However, the digging never stopped, and her deep love for music across a variety of genres proved stronger, leading her to find her way back into the spotlight a few years ago, now delivering her sets all around Switzerland.
