On April 23, 2025, Cuervo Cuervo will release “La Luna”, the first single from their upcoming album titled Las Cartas. “La Luna” had its inception in the pandemic when the duo found themselves trapped in Buenos Aires. It began with Ben playing some chords on guitar and coming up with a glockenspiel melody. With that foundation in place, the guitar was translated to synthesizer and Agustin entered with the ronroco. Then came years of polishing and touring, gradually morphing it into what you hear now, an iconic song for Cuervo Cuervo as a live act, and a multi-part epic that spans many moods, layered with recordings from many different times. La Luna, as both Tarot Card and Song, speaks to the dualities present in all of us - moving from dark to light, heavy to gentle, and from sea to land to sky, and back again.

The complete album, Las Cartas, will be released on all platforms on June 25, 2024

Cuervo Cuervo is the project of Argentinian ronroco master Agustin Ganem and American producer Benjamin Hill. The two met in Bacalar, Mexico in 2019 and have been an unstoppable force ever since. Their project unifies Latin American and North American folk traditions, weaving new tapestries of sound. They have released music through Fertíl Discos, Resueno, Ritmos del Sur, and Cosmovisión, among others, with an album forthcoming with Magic Movement and Platoon. They have toured Mexico, Europe, and the United States extensively, recently making an 2024 appearance at Bahidora Festival in February and Merida Fest in 2025, and are now preparing to embark on a second summer tour in Europe in 2025, having made major festival appearances at Fusion in Germany and Ozora in Hungary, among many others, in 2024.

I've never spent so much time obsessing over a set, trying so hard to make the flow and genre's consistent. 

But then I thought to myself - you create your own rules - just go with whatever you're feeling.

I took this mix as an opportunity to play some of my favourite songs of the past and also of today. Showcasing a lot of music from my talented friends. I tried to play tracks that inspire me when I'm at home sitting on the couch reading & when I play at gigs. 

Wuachuma is an artist project that began while I was traveling in Peru. This project has brought me a lot of inspiration in the creative process of music-making, since I always aim to create compositions that reflect my feelings at that particular moment in time. It has always been important for me to carefully design the desired sound so that I may convey a transcendental expression to the listener. This, I find, is truly the beauty of creating music. It is also in part self-discovery, as I never know what will be composed; making the whole journey very exciting and refreshing.

Having the opportunity to work with great musicians has enabled me to keep growing as a producer while learning many important life lessons. I am currently working on various collaborative projects; always aiming to push the boundaries of creating music that connects with the soul. One example is my release on Kindisch (Nuit d'Afrique) which exemplifies the essence of team work & passion.

"For the past ten years now, I’ve celebrated my birthdays by inviting all my favorite cats to play – we started off at Kater Holzig before moving to our home at Kater Blau in 2015. For the first time since it started, and for obvious reasons, 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch won’t be happening, on what would have been the tenth anniversary of the series.

I’ve been wondering for a while now how I can make up for the missed year - streams already feel a bit outdated, and you just can’t imagine the vibe of the event without actually being there, getting beautifully lost in those days and nights, hugging old friends and making new ones. You can’t even explain that feeling, so you definitely can’t live-stream it.

Instead, this year 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch will be a compilation of some of the amazing artists from the past ten years, and even some of the new faces I would have booked this year. In a way, it’s the perfect souvenir of all the nights we’ve had so far, and an idea of what to look forward to in all the nights to come at Kater Blau somewhere in the future.

The compilation will be split into two sections: Heinz Hopper and Acidbogen, reflecting the two floors of Kater Blau, each with their own special flavor and sound. The whole record is programmed the way I would schedule the artists across the two floors for my birthday, warming up at the start before things start getting more intense later on. I guess you could say it’s a concept album, in which the audience wanders into our lovely little circus on the river Spree, and experiences one of my birthdays from start to finish, split across both floors of Kater Blau.

Much like my parties and my sets, the idea is for the listener to get lost in these tracks and to experience them as a whole piece. At the end of it all you leave with a feeling that maybe, just maybe, cats & music were the answers after all. Even in times like these."
