For Disquiet 0562 - The Assignment: Record something to help someone fall asleep.
I recorded the white noise from fans in my bedroom one night. I was working on another song that had a melody played ukelele and handpan sounds. Took those and used the chance setting in Ableton to lower the chance notes would play to very low. Wanted to have very subtle, sparse tones, nothing to think about too much as you try to fall asleep, but something melodic and mysterious for the background. Added a few tracks of drones, and some outdoor nature sounds from Freesound.org (Guz99 - https://freesound.org/people/Guz99/packs/30169/).  It may still be too busy and too much to fall asleep to, but it was fun experience to try. 'll have to try it out tonight. it's hard to create something to fall asleep to when you're awake. I wish I could make music while falling asleep.

a little fun side project i decided to do. the tracks are quite literally night and day. noche is more of a darker and techno centric production where as dia is more of a daytime bouncy and more light hearted production.

Biography:

Gonçalo Costa is the name behind the project GC System, born on 10/01/1986, in Portugal.

Always connected to electronic music since he was a child, his interest grew fast and, in the end of 2008, started to buying softwares and hardwares for producing music, which led him to produce his own tracks, editing for the first time in 2012.

Whether in his solo or collaborative efforts, GC System has always been a maverick presence in underground dance culture and he believes that the inspiration can come from anywhere and that’s why he is open to all types of Electronic Music.

Their sound is driven by psychedelic beats and synthetic bass lines with a single purpose...to make people dance!!
