Description: Váli (Draumr Version) is a special remake of the song Váli from the Vígríðr album. The Draumr Version, with ‘Draumr’ meaning ‘dream’, is created to guide you to a relaxed state of mind and being. The deep frequency allows you to fall into a deep sleep, to relax, meditate and let go.

Vígríðr, meaning ‘battle-surge’, is a large field foretold to host the battle of the Gods as part of the events of Ragnarök. The album explores the sagas which dive deep into the last events of Ragnarök. 

Most of the songs on the album are in Old Norse, apart from Wulf Ond Eadwacer and Middangaerd, which are in Old English. These are Gealdýr’s first renditions of Old English literature.

The 11 minute epic is a fusion of influences from both artists, ranging from the haunting and shamanic vocal invocations of Anilah, to the ancient tribal call of Einar's signature sound. The end result is a stirring composition, leaving the listener in another world all together.

While facing hardships in his own life, Jonathan Barendsma (Gealdýr) began to understand the healing power that music can have on the soul. Barendsma, was keen to share his story through music. Inspired by the Poetic Eddas and determined to bring the Old Norse wisdom back to life. The name Gealdýr was inspired by Barendsma’s sighting of a white deer in a turbulent phase of his life; it is a combination of the Gaelic word ‘geal’ (white) and the Old Norse word ‘dýr’ (deer).
