Born and raised in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago’s south side Josh Staple is an artist in every sense of the word. In the era of child stars he tried his foray into music at a young age. Under the agnomen J-Illa he went on a tour and signed to an indie label all before the age of 16. Jaded by the politics of his situation and family, he chose to put his music career on the back burner for educational aspirations but the burning desire of music could never fully leave a true artist. After a decade of living life, the artist formerly known (however modestly) as J-Illa, Josh Staple, is back for the first time with his debut project under his christian name.
