Chillhop Music Sessions is an idea that was developed while everyone was stuck at home. Live music was on the fritz and we needed our fix, so we grabbed four Dutch musicians and booked a studio in Rotterdam.

With familiar Chillhop producer Yasper as well as a handful of our friends - including Philanthrope sitting in and Rauwkost behind the lens - we reimagined these five loved tracks from our catalog.

At a time when the world feels more digital than ever, we wanted to come together to create something tangible, something both local and global, further bringing these great songs to life. If you like what you hear, maybe we'll do it again.

About Okiro
Growing up immersed in BC’s music festival scene from a young age Okiro quickly found his love for underground bass music. In 2014 he began Djing under the alias “feeals” and has continued evolving his sound and original production.

Largely influenced and inspired from the sounds of UK’s sub-heavy dubstep, grime, rap and r&b, Okiro's sets range bpm and vibes while predominantly staying within the deeper sounds of 140 bass music. With an ear for quality sounds and known by fans for curating something special that lasts far beyond the dancefloor. 

Playing sets at festivals like Shambhala, Luminosity, Burning Man and Oregon Eclipse, to countless shows and events locally and internationally Okiro has made a name for himself within the electronic music scene.

Day Starter (vol. 1)

Hip hop has always been my first love as far as producing. The Vinyl Restoration series is the embodiment of that, as well as my escape from electronic music in general. I have a very simplistic approach for making the beats trying to take it back to the days of all vinyl sampling, swingy drums, and knocking snares. My aim for Vol. 5 and the series in general is to make music you can just live to.

Hey everybody!  This was my submission for the Tipper and Friends DJ competition to play at Tipper's festival in April of 2016.  This mix features four unreleased tunes as well as two from my last release with Merkaba.  The <3 and repost button help out with the contest.  Enjoy!
