My name is Alexandru Ciobanu Al Rufei, and I am a Concert Pianist, Composer, Songwriter, and Ballet Piano Accompanist. As a classically trained pianist with a Bachelor in Arts/Piano Performance and over 15+ years of teaching experience, I am thrilled to share my musical journey with you.

Here’s a glimpse into my musical achievements:

	•	2002 – Concert with the George Enescu Highschool Orchestra, Auditorium Hall, Bucharest. Conductor: Bogdan Voda
	•	2001 – Third Place, International Piano Competition “PRO-PIANO-ROMANIA”
	•	1999 – First and Special Place, PRO-PIANO-ROMANIA
	•	1998 – First Place, National Music Olympiad
	•	1997 – First Place, International Piano Competition, Brasov, Romania; Recital, Marcelino Botin Foundation, Santander, Spain
	•	1996 – First Place, International Piano Competition, Agropoli, Italy; Awarded the Eugen Barbu Prize
	•	…and many more!

Since 2002, I have performed at 4 and 5-star venues such as the J.W. Marriott, Grand Hotel Continental, Casino Palace, and many others, playing a range of genres including jazz, classical, and cafe-concerto music.

Best known as a local Northern California Funk Band, FlexHead and their sound have developed and grown in popularity since 2015. Influenced by the community, culture, and sounds of their hometown, they perform music that speaks to fans across the musical spectrum.
