Bestows it from the sky
Heavy laden are the clouds
Till  Finally they cry
Pristine tears envelop me
Soothe me when I’m dry
His gift makes me well again
Thank you I reply

I am covered, sanctified and sane
In the rain

Water pouring over me
Deep into my soul
Purge me of transgressions 
Wash and make me whole
Take me back to simple times
That age and baggage stole
Stills the fires that scorched me
When Ambition took its toll

Free me from anxiety and pain
In the rain

The patter of the raindrops
On the rooftop comforts me
Furnishes a reset and
My old vexations flee
Nurtures my recovery
As it nurtures a tree
Quells my noxious attitude 
In all that I foresee 

Hours of serenity I gain
In the rain
