Next up on Modern Ruin is a 4 track EP from Infekto - an alias of Finnish bass music stalwart, Rico Tubbs. These two inventive originals taking influence from uptempo bass music are ably supported by remixes from Modern Ruin regulars in Sideswipe and The Renegades.  

Escape is a mellow breakbeat track, peppered with a thick subbass that is soon supplemented by a male vocal asking to ‘be free’, much like the carefree and airy vibe of this song.

Phuture is a jungle extravaganza, harking back to the late 90s in feel, while exemplary in quality of execution. Old school arpeggios support a jungle breakbeat and high pitched vocal throughout this tune.

Escape then gets the classic treatment from The Renegades as a trendy crossover between jungle and footwork, seamlessly transitioning between the two as acid and rave stabs intertwine.

Sideswipe gets the last say in this EP with his remix of Phuture which wastes no time in going right into footwork as a gritty midrange teases the listener.

Canada's Philthkids arrives on Modern Ruin Records with Cyber Sapiens, a 4 track EP showcasing their diverse styles.

Title track 'Cyber Sapiens' plays out like the soundtrack to a sci-fi sequence which reaches a feverish conclusion, peppered with acid like synths throughout.

'Power Supply' is a breakbeat infused extravaganza, minimal in nature but classy in execution, throwing back to the early days of jungle music.

'The Core' is a nod to what Philthkids are best known for - tension filled ghettotech music supported by sweeps and spacey chords.

'Memory' is a collaboration with BSMNT and is a melodic crossover of footwork and jungle, equal parts breaks and bass.

Modern Ruin Records brings together a follow-up release from Canadian ghettotech heroes, Philthkids, ‘Futura’.

Opening track ‘Openup’ is an introspective, controlled and cultured roller, peppered with percussion and the warmth of the sun.

Title track ‘Futura’ is all about the breaks and follows from the mellow momentum of the opening track. 

The switch-up is apparent with ‘Status 3’, where the Philthkids machine is on an all out sonic assault. 

‘Wanderers’ rounds up this solid release with a mildly jungle influenced footwork riddim, guiding the eager listener to the close.

Booty Powder has teamed up with our friends across the world to bring you our debut release. 

The lead track of “Found My” EP was born during Walpurgis Night 2017, when K^ur Kent^ur and J-Han decided not to go out drinking and were hanging out in the studio. A track was born, which was left to “mature in oak vat” for a year, occasionally getting some play time at our events. We also sent it to our friends across the world, the feedback was very positive and they recommended to release it. We were not happy with the initial version, so we polished it a bit and asked our friends to do remixes for our EP. We were a bit overwhelmed about the results – out of 15 producers we asked, 11 replied instantly and so the product is ready for your ears!

Gee aka GY3 aka Suburban Suspekt is one of the producers' behind Estonian experimental dance music project Def Räädu, but he's also known as a solo artist and a DJ, who's style consists of tight beats and deep bass with a touch of jazz to help things along. In addition he's the main force behind Lejal Genes (est. 1996) and Lejal Globe (est. 2007) record labels, that are both focused on releasing modern dance music. He also runs a regular Lejal'Nyte radioshow on legendary bass music station Sub FM.
