When you hear the name And.Id you immediately make the connection with Mobilee. Being associated with the label for many years already, we have seen his sound develop and evolve over the years. Originally hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece where he spent many years finding inspiration by listening to records in his favorite record store, this has led to the development of this multi-faceted artist.

His upcoming EP on Mobilee, Lunar Distance is a new love affair between the artist and concept. Mixing conceptual inspiration with his signature style, from his love for old Disco to a message from a card that led an uninspired artist into a creation process that itself was a journey and adventure.

In “Lunar Distance” we see ourselves on a journey from earth to the moon. The distance between the two is quite long so the journey needs to keep us intrigued and it does just that with a driving force, which is sure to fill dance floors with little effort. Next on the map is “Radik’s Groove” an adventure that was spawned from Oblique Strategies; a set of cards used by artists when they feel a creative block. Upon drawing the card which stated “Use unqualified people” he did just that. When he was in the studio a six-year old child came and just played around on the drum machine. From there And.Id added a melody on top and it became the main loop used in the track, from this experiment of simplicity a solid track of musical adventure was born. The final track on the EP “One & One,” showcases his love for old Disco records. Made from old recycled samples and dusty analogue synthesizers the track takes us to a familiar place one that is somewhere between Disco bliss and a down tempo wonderland.

atom™‘s EP »riding the void« is, together with the visual works of »HD+«, the conclusion of his critical yet delightful examination of pop music and culture on raster-noton.

like the previous EP »ich bin meine maschine«, »riding the void« is set up very functionally, aiming at being used in the club. techno maverick scuba, for example, turns the track with his »pulse mix« into a straight and dense march, whereas atom™ himself shakes the groove out of »riding the void« with his own two lighthearted remixes. his »nought remix« presents itself as slimmed-down yet very vibrant, while »tool« is a perfectly dance floor-ready reinterpretation of the original track. furthermore, an additional remix by hanno leichtmann can be found on the digital version of the release.

the EP is available in bundle with atom™‘s data dvd »HD+« as well as separately. so far, there were released the full-length album »HD« (r-n147) and the 12-inch ep »ich bin meine maschine« (r-n146).

Pan-Pot’s busy touring schedule over the Summer no doubt inspired their upcoming 12” ‘Captain My Captain’. Having performed for countless festivals and main-stage crowds, their new tracks put forth glacial soundscapes so epic they could sink the Titanic.

If it's possible to say this, title track 'Captain My Captain' is actually the more restrained and studied of the three - featuring vocals written and recorded by Los Angeles based studio vocalist and label freund Cari Golden, who also wrote and performed the vocals on Anja Schneider's recent release for the Hi Five! mobilee compilation 'Something Left'.

Meanwhile, 'Black Horse Down' and 'Bad Photocopy' have everything a true Pan-Pot fan could ever wish for - think dark and heavy, builds and drops, synths and loops - true four a.m. grit to get your hands in the air and keep you raving until dawn!
