After just over a year of strictly remixes, Egbert returns with his first EP after his critically acclaimed album ‘Warm’. ‘Shake’ is a dancefloor EP with three unforgivingly powerful originals.

The release date, Jan 16th, also sees Egbert performing a 6 hour live set together with Secret Cinema @ Melkweg, AMsterdam.

2014 Was a year with many highs for Egbert. With a whopping 4 gigs at Awakenings including both days of the festival, rocking the Cave at Timewarp NL before Sven Väth, Electric Brixton in London, Flex Club Vienna, Sziget Festival and loads more amazing gigs with thousands of people going mental to his live act. 

For 2015 there are a string of strong EP’s lined up kicking off with ‘Shake’ on Gem Records. As Egbert spends most of his time playing live sets with 100% Egbert tracks around the globe, he knows exactly which ones pack the most punch. Label boss Secret Cinema who plays epic sets together with Egbert regularly, sat down and selected three of those tracks for this EP.

The record kicks off with ‘Dik Geluid’ which translates into ‘phat sound’. A stripped down repetitive  techno bomb with a hard kick and a throbbing bass effect as its main elements accompanied by spacey noises and lo-fi vocal samples that funk and echo over the top. Next up is ‘Shake’ which revolves around a bassline on every 16th note triplet that swings over the beat in a way that gives the track loads of energy and danceability. Filters are opened and decays lengthened until the bassline growls and roars with energy building up and up.   Finally there is ‘Korrelig’ which is probably one of the darkest tracks from Egbert’s sets. With scary horror movie vocals, huge delays, and a main noise that sounds evil to its core this is one bad-ass cut…

For catalogue number 016 Rødhåd invited Inox Traxx to his studio for a week-long session in January 2024. The result is SILVENE a four track EP showcasing the symbioses of the two producers in various depths.

The EP will be released in digital format on 06.06.24 followed by a vinyl release and a special Edition expected by the of June - early July.

At the heart of Lady Tazz’s mission is Mind Medizin, her label and event series that champions the sound of kindred spirits, now inviting Radio Slave to the mix this June.
Lady Tazz has overcome many cultural obstacles to achieve her rightful place as one of Toronto’s foremost electronic dance exports. A renegade of sorts, as a teenager she would regularly visit the UK and Germany without her parents’ knowledge to attend London’s Sound Academy and to party in Berlin, whilst continuing to pursue her aspirations of becoming a DJ.

The Bangladeshi producer and DJ is proud of her heritage, but is realistic about the social expectations of throwing raves in her hometown. She moved to Toronto in her teenage years, where she grew up, educating herself on music and a place that has perfected a sound that remains organic and raw. Her record label and party series, Mind Medizin galanty taps into an erotic lifestyle that embraces the unconventional and free spirited – which inspires and motivates Lady Tazz on numerous artistic levels.
For Mind Medzin’s first release of 2025, Lady Tazz will release ‘Sleaze’ on the 27th June, to include a special remix from Rekids founder and UK godfather, Radio Slave. Making his debut on her label.

Foreboding and dripping with lascivious intent, ‘Sleaze’ brazenly stalks into existence by way of warping synth fills and glitching hi-hats. The lyrical component consists of a series of smouldering vocal hooks which salaciously enrapture ones’ senses tightly wrapping around the creeping melody before succumbing to the beat’s stomping dominance.
On the flipside, Radio Slave’s remix revs and fires with shots of ringing overtones atop a deep thud, husky vocal and swooshing cymbals. Whilst upping the ante of the original, its stripped back charm remains culminating in moody, chugging rework bubbling with tension and fraught with Radio Slave’s brand of dark, fractured house.

Tronic has a 20-30 year long history with releasing melodic house and techno. While we opted for the more raw sound in the past few years, Christian wanted to go back to his roots and produce more emotive, groovy, and melodic house and techno again. Lamour Toujours is a progressive groover that has a disco-influenced bassline and adds an emotive chord progression in the break. We asked Argentinean legend Hernan Cattaneo to make a remix. As a long time supporter of Tronic we felt that he would be a great candidate for this remix. Hernan Cattaneo and Kevin Di Serna teamed up and delivered a stunning remix focusing on the melodic chord progression of the original! To finish this release, we asked Tokyo-based Frenchman Vantage to give his New Disco touch to the track. We are very proud of this release and hope you support it!

L'Amour Toujours

Joran van Pol is back on Minus with Edge, a fantastic four track EP that is his first on the label since 2013. In the years since, the Amsterdam based artist has set up his own FADE label and has continued to evolve his cinematic techno sound. 

Previously, van Pol has also released on labels like Rejected, SCI+TEC and Ideal Audio, and has the support of all the big techno players who often reach for his tunes in their sets. As a DJ he is just as in demand, with headline slots everywhere from Space Ibiza to Time Warp all behind him. Having recently set up a new studio, he is still coming on strong with fresh inspiration and ever more essential grooves. 

‘Illos’ opens things with seven spooky minutes of icy techno. Rolling rubbery drums pump away below, and the details up top make for an evocative soundscape with distant industrial sounds, groaning bass and razor sharp hi hats all filling your mind with imagery. Next comes title track ‘Edge’, another brilliant sonic landscape with tense chords repeating over ticking percussion. It’s a track that builds tension throughout, and keeps you looking over your shoulder into the eerie blackness. 

The perfectly high pressure ‘Return’ is one that locks you in and never lets up, with warped synths snaking above traintrack like drums and hits. A dark, rumbling bassline and the sounds of pistons releasing air all add to the intensity of this brain-melting bit of futuristic techno. 

Last but not least, ‘Frostbite’ is then the most spacious and spooky offering of the lot. It has freaky alien sound designs scattered around the track with supple kicks driving the whole thing forwards. It’s an absorbing cut that hurries along and takes you for a thrilling ride. 

These are four more inventive techno tracks from one of the contemporary scene’s brightest stars.
